| So I’ve been hearing a lot of “What stones should my striker use?” recently after the reborn update. Here is a quick guide on my thought process for choosing striker LUQs, and examples of what I would run. This guide is intended for mid-game players who want to develop a better understanding of the game. Currently, building for PvP as a new player is NOT RECOMMENDED due to lesser rewards. There are also issues with goalkeeper hp and no live mode, but this guide should serve for people when they are choosing to get into PvP. Who am I? I'm Kiwoong, and I pilot Shirayurin on Global Server. I play some GSL and live. I think I know what I'm talking about. Don’t listen to me if you don’t want to kek."

| When deciding on a striker stone in PvP, there are a few questions you need to ask yourself:
| |||||
| What kind of matchups am I preparing this LUQ for?
| |||||
| Specific stats matter in some matchups more than others. If I am facing a high critical resist goalkeeper with a striker without much crit, critical damage would mean next to nothing to me when building a LUQ. Critical damage, however, would be very valuable in matches versus goalkeepers who do not build any cres. You might want to build stones specifically for cres or for CDR, but you might rather want to make a stone that is functional in both.
| |||||
| Do I have penetration in-kit?
| |||||
| If the answer is no, you are almost always using Glab as a main stone. Glabaris is consistent and gives a large amount of penetration, which is a required striker stat in PVP. Ideally, you want to overcap pen to around 120. In a CDR meta, you might want to go higher, but 120 is a safe rule of thumb number in general. If you striker has a small amount of inbuilt pen, like 40 from Vonchi, you might prefer to opt for a no pen stone, adding GoFJ or Glab as a sub. Finally, if your striker has a large amount of pen, like 50 from Leventor, you are more free to choose your stone and might prefer to make a LUQ with no pen whatsoever.
| |||||
| Can I realistically crit a Kirna?
| |||||
| If the answer is no, I do not try to build any kind of crit in my LUQ. If I am not critting regardless, it is pointless to build more and more crit. If the answer is yes, it is oftentimes worth it to build some crit for cres specifically (around 400 loaded). This can normally be accomplished with a SHoT main or a rom sub.
| |||||
| Where is my striker’s damage coming from?
| |||||
| It is usually better to augment a striker's strengths rather than to cover for their weaknesses (not talking about pen). Running a DI stone like Windcaller would not make sense on a striker who could guarantee a crit and deal most of their damage off of crit damage like Miri.
| |||||
| 4* STONES | ||||
| |||||
| Here is a quick list of rare stones that new players should keep an eye out for. They are commonly used across characters and having a good collection of them will definitely come in handy.
| |||||
| Naming Convention: In the community, 4* stones and below are often referred to by Color + Stat of the 1st line. Example: Exploding Inferno is Red Dribble.
| |||||
| Listed is a general idea of where these stones are commonly seen, and below there are descriptions on the purpose and uses of each stone. I italicized stones that I believe are very important to hoard and are particularly good. It is unrealistic to give good stone subs for every stone due to them being very situation specific, but I tried to add the more obvious ones. |
