27	Accounting Date			Batch entry date; Batch date; Batch post period		The accounting date indicates when a transaction is recognized, as opposed to the date the transaction actually occurred. The accounting date and transaction date can be the same. The accounting date determines the period in the general ledger to which the transaction is to be posted. You can only select an accounting date that falls within an open period in the ledger to which you are posting. The accounting date for an item is normally the invoice date. 29	Accumulator					You use an accumulator to store cumulative values of defined items as they are processed. You can accumulate a single value over time or multiple values over time. For example, an accumulator could consist of all voluntary deductions, or all company deductions, enabling you to accumulate amounts. 31	Action Reason					The reason an employee's job or employment information is updated. The action reason is entered in two parts: a personnel action, such as a promotion, termination, or change from one pay group to another—and a reason for that action. 32	Action/Reason				PERS Action	Personnel Actions are now divided into two categories: Action and Reason. When you select an "Action" a filtered list of "Reasons" will be available to further define that action. Please note: the selection of a certain "Action" can cause a process to run elsewhere in the system. The activity defines such things as the costs that are associated with the offering, enrollment limits and deadlines, and waitlisting capacities. In PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management, the work of an organization and the aggregation of actions that are used for activity-based costing. In PeopleSoft Enterprise Project Costing, the unit of work that provides a further breakdown of projects—usually into specific tasks. In PeopleSoft Workflow, a specific transaction that you might need to perform in a business process. 38	Administrative Utility					The form where you go in 25Live to access all the data (for which you have security privileges) for a particular kind of object. The directory tabs let you access data in a variety of presentations: for example, by favorites, alphabetical or data-specific groupings, or the full list (by cabinets, in the case of events). 25Live directories include those for events, spaces, resources, organizations, contacts, rate schedules, and reports. The analysis database tables contain keys for all objects in a report that an application program can use to reference other student-record objects that are not contained in the printed report. For instance, the analysis database contains data on courses that are considered for satisfying a requirement but that are rejected. It also contains information on courses captured by global limits. The date range of the cabinet delimits when events in the cabinet may occur.
