Notes
25
* The wellhead spigot test on 9/23/2024 is the only sample taken upstream of any treatment, so it is the ONLY baseline for the well's raw water. It was also taken at an earlier date than the other tests.
26
* Water is routed through PVC pipes/fittings, a standard pressure tank, and PEX pipes/fittings.
27
* The distiller passes through a VOC filter and an in-line pump before going to the filtered water faucet.
28
* PFAS and Radon were NOT tested at the wellhead. Kinetico filters and softeners do not normally remove PFAS, so PFAS levels at the kitchen sink should approximate raw well water for those compounds.
29
* RO is Reverse Osmosis.
30
* Kinetico Filter/softener equipment: Kinetico SK-002 Mach Super Kit Cartridge, Kinetico DC1175 13x54 Chloraban Chloramine Filter System, Kinetico 2060s Mach Non-Electric, Twin Tank Water Softener.

Kinetico RO equipment: Kinetico K5 RO system with pressure tank.

Distiller equipment: Pure Water Mega Classic with an inline pump and VOC filter post distillation.
31
* Distiller and RO are 'point-of-use': they treat water at one tap, not the whole house.
32
* THMs (Trihalomethanes such as chloroform, bromodichloromethane, etc.) are disinfection byproducts. Their presence means chlorine is being added somewhere. The Kinetico filter/softener was moved over from our prior house that used municipal water treated with THMs. There could be some leftover THM in the system.
33
* Reference limits used: EPA National Primary & Secondary Drinking Water Regs, 2024 PFAS Final Rule, and WHO where EPA has no value.
