GregPossibly Ludwig?I don't think this is a Java issue, but rather an issue about how Java uses SCons. Presumably, the builder specifies the directory as the input, but that doesn't cause the tree to be walked for sources. I'd guess that once the Nodes for the sources were created within the source directory, nature would take its course.

StevenresearchSK, +JavaGive it to me. I also have another Java issue to research (2550) and can take a look at both as long as I'm in that code.

Gary2.1p2WOW! Impressive for a first-time contributor. Recommend integrating as soon as practical.
49
GregI'll go along with the experts, but I'll raise a warning about backward compatibility, as it looks like some variables are being removed without notice.

GregIs this one of those things that varies with the Java version? If so, is the version set correctly? Need Java guru.

GaryWhat is a .sx file? Not any kind of C file I know about. Would it perhaps be better to have an official way for people to add to the C/CXX suffixes list?
75
Greg2.1? +Easy but who?I don't see the harm of .sx files being added to the list of C suffixes, but I vaguely remember this being discussed on a mailing list before and there was some reason it wasn't done. Anybody remember why? If not, it's pretty trivial to do, so just go ahead and do it. @Gary: According to the list of suffixes in the man page, it's preprocessed assembler.

Steven2.1 +EasyLarger issue: the suffix list for scanning should be configurable, but it'll take more work to delay evaluation

Greg2.1p2 +Easy, but who? He's right about the case-folding required. Needs a test case, but is otherwise pretty simple. Also, needs more context for the patch, as those lines will get mangled by the 2.0 changes.
