Welcome to Enriching Wikipedia's Days of the Year! Thanks for your interest.

3
This project is just what it says in the title: we add underrepresented people to Wikipedia’s Days of the Year.
4
Edit There is now a tab for Non-binary, Gender-fluid, Gender-queer, and intersex people. Trans women are listed on whatever tab they've been sorted to.
5
The "sorting" is more of a schedule technique than any absolute sorting of people. People may be listed in more than one tab.
6
As of January 2018, edits to Days of the Year require inline citations

From the original idea page:

Wikipedia's Days of the Year pages are used by many people to get a snapshot of history on a particular day. The events, births, and deaths listed are disproportionately about men. I propose a project that makes a concerted effort to add the accomplishments and achievements of women.

This is not a comprehensive list or a “must do” list. It’s a list of women and nonbinary, genderfulid, and genderqueer people who have met the criteria for this project:
14
15
1) They have an article on Wikipedia that is not a stub
16
2) They have a definite date of birth or death
17
3) They are not currently listed on a Day of the Year

How to use this spreadsheet
20
21
1) Click a link in the url column
22
2) In a separate tab, navigate to a day of the year. This can either be the date of birth or death.
23
3) Search again for the name of the person you are adding
24
4) If they're not there, add them according to the style guide and editing notes on the page.
25
a) Do NOT mark your edit as minor - this is only for spelling and punctuation errors
26
b) Please comment on your addition and include “WDOY” so that they’re searchable
27
5) Always preview before saving your changes.
28
6) Back in the spreadsheet, add a comment to the “added on” cell that you have done so and on what date.

Notes

32
1) You are not limited to this spreadsheet. You’re free to crawl Wikipedia on a subject dear to your heart and find people to add.
33
2) Please consider creating a Wikipedia account so that you can keep track of your changes.
