Went to lunch with CTE and discussed the possibility of doing a cooking competition & filming it in Foods class--something like one of the popular cooking reality shows.
Mrs. Miller was very receptive of me coming into her Teen Living class this semester, perhaps doing something on digital citizenship or other real-world teen skills/topics. She brought a copy of her topics by later that day so she is definitely interested!
Makerspace ideas - I asked her if we could collaborate on art materials/projects we could put in our makerspace. One thing we thought about was having students make treasure boxes during the holidays using small boxes and magazine covering.

When Mrs. Barnes expressed her excitement about teaching Multimedia, I shared an idea about coming in and having students look at good and bad examples of book covers to help teach them why certain fonts, colors, etc. work and what kind of message they send. She seemed very excited by this! We had a follow-up discussion 9/1/15 and I am researching book cover articles to share with her class in a future lesson.
Mrs. Thompson asked if I could do a short plagiarism lesson with her 2nd period juniors tomorrow. I made a Kahoot and infographic to teach them how to find legal images and reliable websites, and how to cite these sources. Resources emphasized were Google's advanced search tools, Sweetsearch, and Easybib.
Mr. Hines stopped by the library to look at our banned books and after having his picture taken with An Abundance of Katherines, I showed him the Earth Science books I'd bought based on his request last year. He said he tried to get them to use book as well as internet sources in their research and I offered to come in and help students access ebooks when he's ready for that project. He was enthusiastic and said the project was coming up soon.

Mrs. Perkins's 2nd & 3rd period students started research today so I went up to the lab to help them get logged into the server & get started. I spent most of 2nd & 3rd periods helping students find sources and take notes, and when Krysta said many were below grade level, I offered to help. She invited me to her PLC this afternoon to brainstorm ideas such as tutoring to help them strengthen weak points on writing skills. At the PLC meeting, we talked about the ACES (Answer, Cite, Explain, Summarize) strategy in writing & offering tutoring opportunities for students to improve writing skills.--sort of like a writing lab/writing center.
