We found that thickness optimizes: the cost per gown; being durable enough for single use; being thin enough to allow thumb holes to be punctured before donning gloves; and being flexible enough to be doffed safely. While this gown is closed on the back by default, some providers may prefer to slit the back leaving easy-to-break connections near the neck, waist, or knees to make doffing easier.2-4 minutes
