Detailed Position Description Your response should include: position context, specific tasks or responsibilities and connection to the learning outcomesThe H-STAR (Honors STudents Actively Recruiting) organization is comprised of over 100 H-STAR volunteers in the various and extensive recruitment activities of the MSU Honors College. Student volunteers serve on panels, attend recruitment events, and develop connections with prospective students and their families while serving as representatives of Michigan State University and the Honors College.The H-STAR (Honors STudents Actively Recruiting) student leadership team leads over 100 H-STAR volunteers in the various and extensive recruitment activities of the MSU Honors College. Student leaders coordinate and serve on panels, attend recruitment events, and develop connections with prospective students and their families while serving as representatives of Michigan State University and the Honors College. H-STAR student leaders are carefully selected by HC Admissions Staff and the current leadership team for their commitment to the goals of the organization and to the Honors College and its mission.

- Can clearly and effectively communicate about and demonstrate knowledge of MSU and Honors College programs. Represents the university at formalized recruitment events in a variety of settings (on-campus, off-campus, virtually)

Learning Outcome: Utilize multiple media to communicate - communicates with prospective students and families using a variety of methods ranging from live in-person events, e-mail, online web chats
Learning Outcome: Build and Support Inclusive Communities - planning and evaluation from annual training run by H-STAR Leaders, lead membership meetings, staff recruitment programs targeted towards underrepresented groups, foster connections in online communities.

Learning Outcome: Demonstrate Effective Interpersonal Communication - track participation on student Q & A panels, meeting with prospective students and parents, hosting or interacting with visiting students, e-mail communication with prospective students, Honors College Admissions Staff will provide positive and constructive feedback during meetings and between events as needed.
