The Rider of the Year competition is presented by the Northbrook Cycle Committee. The ROTY competition is held for the following rider classificiations:

Category Pro/1/2, Category 3, Category 4, Women Category Pro/1/2/3, Women Category 4/5, Juniors 10-14, and Juniors 15-18 (Junior Girls recognized within JR cats)

The Garner Cup competition is held for riders competing in the 40+ age group race each Thursday night. All categories are welcome to participate. We will also award the top 50+ riders.

Riders accumulate points during Thursday night racing, beginning May 15th and running until August 28th. NO ROTY POINTS closing night 9/4

Races on Opening Night and Illinois State Championships are worth DOUBLE POINTS. Up to 2 individual events from the Elite and Jr Timed Event State Championships count towards ROTY. These events include match sprints, 500 m TT, 1000 m TT, and individual pursuit.
