In this class we will learn how to use your camera through fun, hands-on opportunities. We will learn basic camera functions as well as light, composition, perspective, and much more! We will spend lots of time out in the field practicing the concepts and skills discussed in class. All students should have access to a digital camera (point and shoot or digital SLR) and should bring their fully charged cameras to class each day.

Join Ms. Mercedes in the Wood Makerspace to build and program LEGO Mindstorms Robots! Students will be placed into smaller groups to work together to create a robot to meet the challenges presented by our travels in space. Can their robots assemble the crew for the Mars mission? Can they rescue the Mars Rover trapped in a crater? LEGO Robotics teaches kids important life skills like programming, problem solving, and working together, as well as crucial technological skills that they need to navigate the modern world.

STEM Claymation/Stop Motion AnimationGr. 3-57/11 - 7/15$195Claymation animation camp is amazing! It is a project-based STEM activity that integrates math and science in an art form. This camp engages students through a multifaceted curriculum that involves the concept of motion. Some emphasis will be on sculpture and figure-making using clay and a variety of mediums. Students will also learn to download images, work in Windows Movie Maker or Adobe Premiere, and learn how to add sound to their projects. Students will organize their ideas through creating storyboards following the organized process of building the figures, creating set designs and then learning photography and computer technology. Mosaics & PotteryGr. K-37/11 - 7/15$195 + $15 materialsHave fun creating with clay! In this exciting camp students will learn to manipulate clay to create functional and decorative pieces as well as create their own mosaic frames and trivets! They will experiment with different clay techniques that include slab construction, slump molds, etching designs, and adding textural elements to create bowls, vases, boxes and tiles! They will finalize their pieces with food-safe ceramic glazes and learn about the firing process. By the end of the session each student will have at least 6 finished ceramic and mosaic pieces to be proud of!

Circus ArtsGr. K-27/11 - 7/15$195An entertaining, mental and physical class, it focuses on promoting hand-eye coordination, vocal and physical expression, and stretching the body and mind. Beginning with warm-ups and conditioning, the course will include elements of clowning such as tumbling, juggling, skits and dramatic play. On top of all this fun we will also be focusing on gymnastics and partnering skills.

It is only available to students who are enrolled in an AEF Summer Camp. ARPD will pick up the students at 12.30 pm and take them to Godfrey Park, 281 Beach Road, Bay Farm Island. Students will be transported to the park via a city-owned vehicle .Parents must pick up their child(ren) by 5.30pm .Please note: Parents must be on time to pick up their children, or they will be charged $1/minute late fee by ARPD.
