The purpose of Chess Club is to have fun and enjoy playing chess with friends.

To create awareness on myriads of environmental issues. We will be aiming to reduce the use of plastic, meat-consumption, recycling, and etc... We want to create a community where individuals can come together to share their views on environmental impacts and come up with solutions.

Its primary objective shall be the promotion of interest and participation in marine-related environments for the purpose of exploring those environments, helping the community and the planet, and building unity among members. Furthermore, the purpose is also for engaging and participating in marine-related activities.

The purpose of mental health awareness club is to provide Lawndale students with the information needed in order to understand different mental disorders/ illnesses, how to spot them among peers and provide students with multiple resources so they can reach out and get help for themselves and their peers. What we are definitely not doing is counselling students, we are not psychologists or therapists and we are very aware of that fact, if we receive any information where a student is somehow unsafe in any way we know that any of our board members and our advisor has to report it. We want to empower and unite students who may be dealing with different illnesses, disorders, stress, or those who just want to educate themselves and we would like to share any of the resources or information we present to the club with the rest of the school. We hope to participate in the school activities during Mental Health Month and bring an end to the mental health stigma.

We expose students to STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and field trips. We encourage students to express their creative and innovative ideas as they brainstorm and build their projects for competition. We collaborate with community partners such as UCLA, Jet Propulsion Lab, Raytheon, Boeing, the LA Airforce base, and the Aerospace Corporation to provide students with the resources and information they need so that they can learn more about the STEM field and its careers. We will recognize the accomplishments of our members, promote unity and awareness to the community.

Multicultural Club's purpose is to promote understanding and awareness of the various cultures of our world. We would like to enrich the Cardinal Community by exploring and advocating ethnic and multicultural diversity.

Allow students to volunteer in pet shelters and hospitals

Our goal is to bring awareness and be helpful to those who don't have the resources to provide for themselves. We will achieve this by collecting donations through fundraisers and outside resource such as churches thrift stores, and volunteer work.

Poetice Justice focuses on the artistic expression of written and poetic word/song. Students are invited to create and showcase their own poetry and creative works. Additionally, we intend to hosts open-mics for our creative minds to share their works. We also hope to meet weekly to discuss texts and chosen books for the national organization, Project Lit.

POPS (Pain of the Prison System) is a support group for students who have/had friends and/or family in the prison system. Journal writing is encouraged in the club. Students get a chance to become a published author using their written pieces.

SEL*Fie Club - Social Emotional Learning & Facilitation Club

SEL*Fie Club members practice mindful movement, breath work, and deep relaxation/mindfulness to enhance physical, mental, and emotional wellness; and develop social emotional learning competence in the areas of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. We build capacity to integrate skills, attitudes, and behaviors to deal effectively and ethically with daily tasks and challenges.

The purpose of this club is to unite all students in terms of continuing to learn about the Spanish language and culture in dance music and various other activities
