Don't even waste your time. They were not honest about pricing, I specifically asked how much my card would be charged and was told it would be $340 for a 2 hour standard clean in a relatively small condo. The day after I was charged $480 dollars and they did not seem to care. The clean was fine, but absolutely not worth 500 dollars.

First of all, got 2 different rate quotes from calling vs emailing for the same job. Only after confronting the Oakville owner did she: 1-own up to charging a different rate than Mississauga, 2-honor the quotes rate.
Second, the cleaner was nearly an hour late and affected our planning for the rest of the day.
Thirdly, the surfaces supposedly cleaned were scummy, dusty and had food/dirt stuck to the surfaces of the fridge and floor. The toilet was dirty as well. Spent over an hour cleaning and scrubbing the day after the cleaner "deep cleaned". Deep clean was quoted at 3 hours and even though the cleaning she did was sloppy, the cleaner ran out of time and did not clean the cabinets or appliances that are part of deep clean.
In terms of the office, not one person provided an invoice either right after the clean or later but they demanded payment ASAP. They were going to complete/fix the job but wanted payment prior to this. When I complained, I was accused of "talking down" to staff. It also seems disorganized, since I had to repeatedly request the time for the appointment scheduled as it wasn't sent to me. In addition, not sure why the Milton office was emailing me about invoices and payment for the imaginary invoice (Still not received).
Don't recommend. Find someplace that doesn't quote multiple rates and overcharge.

Move Out

The ladies who came to clean our home were very nice.
However, there were many surface area basic dusting that was missed, vacuuming not completed and an entire room that was missed. I had to complete these things on my own (I even sent pictures).

We did request a morning appointment because we were listing our home and the crew did not show up until noon.
A somewhat pathetic 15 minute discount was taken off our $400 bill. They did offer to come and clean again, but we had a picture crew coming in that afternoon)

Move Out

Extremely disappointed in my move out clean. I was mislead by the sales representative on the phone that the basic general clean would include “all exterior surfaces, just not inside cupboards and cabinets”. Instead my walls were left dirty, my baseboards were left dirty and untouched in the corners, my floor was left with pieces of matted dirt and hair where the cleaner was too lazy to properly vacuum. There were spots of adhesive on the floor she said she “couldn’t get off” that I later removed with old fashioned scrubbing, which I guess she couldn’t be bothered to try. I had already done a preliminary clean so all she really did was bathroom fixtures. For $110, I had to spend another 4 hours cleaning my apartment.

The cleaner illegally parked in the building next door, and I tried to be nice by offering her to move to my visitor parking so she wouldn’t be ticketed. I didn’t realize when helping her that she would deduct that 15 minutes from my actual cleaning time. My mistake for being nice I suppose.

I tried to bring up my concerns to her after she had “finished” but she was already packed up with her stuff out the door (which again she had done using time I paid for her to clean) telling me she had to go to another house. The sales rep was pushy about paying immediately so I did.

I tried giving Merry Maids a chance to resolve this to no avail. They implied I was cheap for going with the basic clean, even though their sales rep lied to me about what it would include. Supposedly there was a 24 hour satisfaction guarantee that no one informed me of at any point, not that I couldn’t have used it considering I was moving out anyway. They offered me a $50 credit, which wouldn’t have even been enough to fix the original job she did. Also not sure how someone is supposed to use a credit when they moved.... There are lots of great cleaning services in Oakville that will treat you much better than this. I would recommend going with one of them.

EDIT since they decided to lie in their response. I never had a budget. Obviously I was willing to pay for the cleaning, otherwise I wouldn’t have called. I also initially chose a more expensive deep clean, but their sales representative told me that a basic clean for 90 min was all I needed after I told her what was involved (not that that was even done well). Your team was the one that recommended 90 minutes and you’re seriously trying to claim that I was unrealistic about the time expectation? Disgusting business practices.

The Merry Maid personnel did not show up at the agreed time, and we didn’t even get a courtesy call to notify us of the delay. We had to call to ask what’s going on.
- A ½ hour after the agreed time ONE person (instead of the 2 promised) showed up,; she arrived without the necessary equipment, not even a vacuum cleaner.
- In spite of our protestations she did not start cleaning the largest, most dirty surfaces, but spent an inordinate amount of time with polishing unnecessary details, and did so exceedingly slow.
- The 2nd cleaner arrived 1 hr. later. At least she had a professional vacuum cleaner, and seemed a lot more familiar with the work.
- None of them had the detailed, written scope of work e-mailed to the manager ahead of her pre-estimate inspection. And they did not follow it even when handed out and instructed to do so.
- They did not have the equipment necessary to do a full, tall window and blinds cleaning (specified in the scope of work instructions), but were ready to do and charge for an inadequate job. We had to cancel their window/blinds cleaning part of the job.
- After their personnel departure we noticed still dusty floor areas, for the cleaning of which they had to return the next day.
And when mentioned of their shortcomings, they all (manager, receptionist, cleaners) had an attitude - not a word of apology!
A most frustrating, time wasting experience.

Cleaning service is a JOKE. They were nice at first and cleaned our house half decent for the money we paid and never broke anything but after they were comfortable in our house the service went downhill. The girls scratched numerous walls and baseboards with the vacuum cleaner and damaged the bottom of our dining room table by smacking the vacuum cleaner into it numerous time. Careless service. The last straw was when they started arguing consistency in front of our family about how we pay less then other houses larger then us. We paid them $280 for house cleaning and now we have one girl who comes in for $150 spends almost double the time and ACTUALLY CLEANS everything properly. Wouldn't bother.

I am incredibly unsatisfied with the service.

Staff failed to clean various areas around my apartment that should have been quite basic. Considering I specifically told them that they could take as long as needed to properly clean and there were four of them, I am shocked by their failure to clean properly.

Areas of issue:
- the top of my shelving unit in the kitchen and the taller of my two shelving units in the living room were untocuhed
- staff failed to properly dust the shelves of all three bookshelves (one in living room, two in bedroom) and did not do the top of them
- the top of the fridge was untouched
- did not dust the living room tv, behind the living room tv, or the unit the tv is sitting on
- the full window frames (they seem to have dusted only the main ledge)
- various areas of the floor were visibly untouched and dirty (examples are the corner by stove in the kitchen and the area around and under the shelf in hallway)
- one of the two end tables in the bedroom was left untouched except the top of it
- multiple items around the apartment were untouched (examples are two candle holders and a decorative jar)

Standard?

The Maids cleaned my home and several item went missing. I contacted the service about this & was told none of the staff had seen anything.
One of the items was a new pair of earrings, still attached to the cardboard packaging.
The earrings were gone and the packaging was found in the cupboard under the sink....

Management offered no resolution & even suggested that maybe the earrings had "fallen in the garbage"

This was clearly theft.

If you use this service, lock up your belongings because the cleaners they send into your home may be thieves. The company won't do anything about it

Update: almost a year later The Maids reply to my review.
The person they Know was responsible for the theft was not dismissed.
This is cut & paste from the email I received from them :

We value you as customer and would appreciate an opportunity to discuss or remedy as you suggest if the items are not found. I apologize and do not want to appear not taking responsibility, and ask if it is possible the items could have been moved or at worst fallen in to the garbage and not noticed?

I worked for them and they are withholding my pay check from me I even had the owner pat laugh in my face and tell me my paycheck wasn't important to her. While I worked there the girls on the team use the bathrooms and don't reclean them as well as they look through peoples stuff and lay on their beds. Disgusting company

Move Out

That say if your not satisfied they will come back an clean it again. Bs. You'll have to pay again. Not worth it for almost $300 an hour. They were no match for the kitchen backsplash.

Three of the six visits they were over 1 hour late, 2 visits they had to cancel the morning of the scheduled cleaning. They did not stand behind their 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Cleaners rude to each other and to owner. Were too messy when cleaning and would leave their materials all over the house. Customer asked for green products and was not granted.

G Power Cleaning Services

Came late, sent only 2 people instead of 3. Managed to only get 40% of my house cleaned in 6 hours- $300!! Lied about vacuuming, gave me attitude and fought with me in my own house.
