Welcome to Narcius' FFTBG Team Analyzer! This is a tool that will pull unit data from the currently live game, and will tally up their gear, skills, etc to estimate a score of how strong the team is.Changelog:

Aug 23 2020
Updated team generation script to automatically switch to the "Team Comparison" tab, and set teams to Red and Blue. Updated Win Rates for WR Score, should be much more accurate for classes, monsters, and equipment.

HOW DO I USE THIS?
Aug 19 2020
Updated stats for many units + items based on balance patches
5
First, Go to File > Make A Copy to have your own handy verison of this! It's probably a good idea to read over the "Guide" tab to get an idea of how things work. After that (or if that's too boring) simply go to the "Teams" tab, and click the image of the robot to pull the latest data on teams. After that, it's a good idea to head to the "Team Comparison" tab to see how teams stack up against one another!
6
Mar 8 2020Added astral sign calculations! In the team comparisons tab, the two selected teams will calculate their astral sign compatability, and damage will be altered accordingly. Furthermore, this tab will multiply each unit's Personal Score based on their average astral sign compatibility with their team and the enemy.
7
WHY DOESN'T THIS SPREADSHEET EVER UPDATE?
8
It does, actually! However, your copy won't update automatically as I make changes. Major updates will be listed in the changelog to the right, but I make lots of small adjustments throughout the day. If you feel like your spreadsheet is becoming inaccurate or missing features, try making a new copy of this spreadsheet for the latest version!Feb 28 2020Rebalanced many monsters, as many were being undervalued compared to the average unit Personal Score of 4. May undo this later, if it turns out I've overvalued them?

WHAT IS THIS WINRATE STUFF?
Feb 27 2020Refined the betting calculations section at the bottom of the "Team Comparison" tab. You can now add in bet amounts for how valuable you think various calculations are, and the spreadsheet will recommend bets for you to make based on your valuations and how much money you're comfortable betting. it even provides !bet commands you can copy + paste!

Also added a "Guide" tab, with explanations on what each of the tabs of this spreadsheet do, and how best to utilize them.
11
In addition to calculating scores for units based off of personal preference and weighting, this spreadsheet will also pull winrate data! A second calculation of scores for units and teams is shown alongside the personal weighted scoring - this second dataset is called "Winrate Score" or "WR Score" for short - it is a score value based ONLY on winrate.

WR Scores are calculated by taking the winrate for each indvidual ability and item on a unit, and averaging them all out. Even Gender and astral sign are taken into account! Because there's not a LOT of winrate data for every ability, item, and monster, whenever an entry hsa fewer than 50 recorded games, it will be ignored and won't factor into average winrate calculation for that unit. If a unit is showing up as a blank, this is why - it's likely a monster that has fewer than 50 games played, so it's ignored to as not to throw off the data. If you want to adjust this, change the "Minimum" value in cell B12 of the "Unit Win Rate Generation" tab. To make the winrate scores easier to read, the scores are all normalized by making the unit with the lowest winrate "1.00", so all of the other units are relative to that unit. Otherwise, all of the win rates would only ranged from 45~55 and be VERY samey. Reducing them like this helps exaggerate the differences between a "good" and "bad" win rate to be more noticeable.

Feb 25 2020
Various number adjustments, and updated all recent balance changes by Nacho.
13
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WR SCORE AND AVERAGE WINRATE?
14
"WR Score" is based on pure winrate results, but does NOT account for specific skill or item combinations. For example, a Move-MP Up would in theory have a better winrate on Summoner than it would on Ninja, since Summoners benefit from MP while Ninjas don't. However, the WR Score doesn't account for this, and instead just uses the average winrate for Move-MP Up regardless of whether it's on Summoner or Ninja.

The "Average Winrates" column is one that DOES take class performance into account - thus, Move-MP UP will have a greater effect on Summoner than it will on Ninja, using our previous example. However, because this uses specific combinations for calulation, it has a much smaller sample size, and thus is prone to large swings in data compared to WR Score.
Feb 17 2020Added "Team Comparison" tab - this tab can be used to compare the stats of two teams, and will calculate out the average number of hits it will take each team member to kill each enemy unit, along with showing averages of all of these for the team. Hope this helps with betting!

WHAT DO THE NUMBERS ON THE SKILLS AND ITEMS MEAN?
Feb 11 2020
Fixed a minor bug causing Mediators to sometimes throw N/A errors
17
The higher the number, the better. Here's a rough guide as to how I value things:
-2: terrible, actively hurts the unit.
-1: below average, while this may not hurt the unit, it will often do nothing for the unit or cause the AI to perform poorly.
0: average, neither helps nor hurts the unit.
1: good, helps the unit achieve their goals, or makes up for a unit's weaknesses.
2: great, this will always give the unit a noticeable advantage, and can be the deciding factor of a game.
3: game-winning, this item or ability can either single-handedly decide a game, or can cause the unit to carry their team to victory.
18
Feb 6 2020Fixed a bug not causing win rates to properly appear, and adjust various skill and items values to smooth out variance. There should now be fewer outlandishly high or low scored units.
19
WHY DID THE TEAM WITH BIGGER NUMBERS LOSE?
20
These numbers are not absolute words from Ajora! They are only estimations of how likely a team is to win over another. This does not account for AI stupidity, and upsets can happen due to a lucky crit or something. Don't take these points as gospel.Fed 5 2020Added in the "Team Win Rates" and "Unit Win Rate Generation" tabs. These tabs work the same as "Teams" and "Unit Score Generation", except instead of pulling data from the tabs belonging to other jobs, they pull information straight from historical win rate data. These tabs will become more accurate over time, but because they're based on pure data they cannot account for specific synergies or anti-synergies the way the "Teams" tab can. I recommend using both tabs when calculating which team you would like to bet on.
21
22
WHY ARE THESE NUMBERS SO WRONG?
Feb 3 2020Fixed a bug causing gender and skill calculations to fail, and did other minor balancing.
23
Hey, they're just my own opinions! If you think I'm valuing things wrong, go check out the "Job Values" tab, or the tabs for individual jobs themselves. There you can find all the modifiers for skills, equipment, etc that are taken into account, and you can adjust them on your own. I encourage you to do this for your own copy of this spreadsheet, so it's personally yours!

WHY DID I LOSE GIL WHEN FOLLOWING THIS DUMB SPREADSHEET?
Feb 2 2020Reworked brave and faith calculation! Both are now usually treated as multipliers to the unit's "base" score, with 60 brave/faith treated as average. A higher brave/faith will scale the unit's score up, and a lower brave/faith will scale it down. The strength of the scaling is determined by the unit's class, and can be adjusted in that class's tab. In the event a unit has a negative score, then the unit instead gains an addition/subtraction to their base score, so that units with good brave/faith will still get a better score (rather than having their negative score multiplied).

Units that are primarily phyiscal, such as Monks and Ninjas, will instead gain a bonus for having LESS faith than average, as that will increase their survivability.
26
Shit happens sometimes, I'm not responsible for bad luck with betting.
27
Feb 1 2020Reworked how the spreadsheet gathers data on units, to drastically reduce the number of json calls made. This should fix any errors while gathering data.
28
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
29
This sheet pulls data directly from Tiko's team tracking website, https://fftbg.com/
Winrate data is from Bryan's winrate tracker, https://fftbg.bryanching.net/
Jan 31 2020Initial release!

31
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY MISSING FEATURES?
32
This is an early version of what I have planned, and I intend on fleshing out this spreadsheet to account for more variables. Things planned:
- Team scores, based on job combinations and synergies
- More robust modifiers that account for skill combinations, such as giving extra points to "Throw Item" when "Items" is the unit's secondary skill.
- Map considerations, giving teams bonuses/detriments based on the map they're fighting on
- A "Volatility" score, which will point out swingy abilities that can randomy influence a game such as Steal Heart.
- Other things! Feel free to make suggestions in the FFTBG discord #strategy channel!
