Revision Path"Revision Path is an award-winning weekly interview podcast that focuses on showcasing some of the best Black graphic designers, web designers, and web developers from all over the world. On each episode, we explore the stories, processes, experiences, insights, and creative inspirations of these awesome creators. [...] Revision Path was created because the stories of Black designers and developers deserve to be shared and told. And since most mainstream tech and design websites and podcasts don’t share or tell these stories, we’re stepping up to the plate and providing a platform for these creative individuals to shine."

Untold Stories"Under the name Untold Stories, Ruben Pater creates visual narratives that support solidarity, justice, and equality. This often starts as a collaboration with other disciplines to create new perspectives on complex social and political issues."

"I use tools of visual communication to create new relations between journalism and design. I interpret the role of a graphic designer as an active and critical citizen who has the agency to communicate effectively. [...] Design is not some magic force that will solve the world’s problems. Assuming this can be dangerous. I do believe designers can try to lessen the negative impact of design on the planet and use their skills to support solidarity, justice, and equality."

The People's Design Lab "The People's Design Lab was first implemented in the UK in 2013, inspired by the Little Museum of Bad Industrial Design in Italy and zero waste achievements around the world. In 2016, Zero Waste Europe has launched a new edition of the Lab, where European citizens can come together and help change design. A laboratory for ordinary folk, experimenting with design. It’s a place for people who care about reuse and recycling, a place to address industries who create “stuff” in the first place and say `look, we’re doing our bit, what about you?`"

Civic City"Civic City is opening the discussion focused on the design of objects not just as isolated object repeated identical a million of times but focused on the design in the context, in situ created by the social reality in the neighbourhood. There are a lot of new problematics emerging – the relation between design and the evolution of a contemporary urban space, in context of its social, ecological and politic aspects. Design to remain modest can animate the discusssion and treat the equal to the equal with those who are planning the city. Measuring the neighbourhood, timeframes, dematerialisation, we are coming up with other questions as the urban planner."Environment

International Gender Design Network"There is still no equal participation of female designers in all areas of design: following society’s hetero-normative clichés, competences and responsibilities traditionally regarded as “female” or “male”, are distributed unequally. Women architects of Novi Sad"Losing the identity of urban areas became a phenomenon with accepting modernism as a dominant architectural expression of the past century. A precondition for finding the most optimal approach in today’s architectural pluralism is to increase awareness of our own surroundings. If we are missing data on who built our city and how it was built, it is most definite that we will end up forgetting our history of building and our essential particularity and therefore lose the foundation necessary for future architectural ventures. Women architects of Novi Sad is a contribution to this base of knowledge in our city’s contemporary architecture. It contains results of a research conducted by a group of architecture students and practicing architects G91 with a goal to explore the presence and role of women architects in shaping the built environment of Novi Sad."Gender Equality

metadesigners"We define metadesign as an emerging framework of practice that will enable designers to change, or create, behavioural paradigms. This is an ambitious task that cannot be achieved by what we currently understand as ‘design’. Paradigms are complex, self-perpetuating systems that are co-sustained by habitual processes that are part of the prevailing social, cultural, economic, aesthetic, psychological, technological and linguistic milieu. As these factors reinforce one another, they fiercely resist change unless they can be addressed in a comprehensive and joined-up way. As this also means identifying simultaneous points of intervention we must devise more comprehensive and radical agenda that includes team-based practices."Education

Cultural Interflow"In the current uprising of right-wing politics, the discussions often focus on a view of the world in its present state rather than understanding it as a historical process. Migration, ethnical identity are culturally created processes, which go back thousands of years and should not only be looked at from today's standpoint. Once we move away from the question, who is migrating today to the question who migrated the most. The countries who try to stop migration today are the biggest migrators themselves. We joined forces as an independant umbrella organization in March of 2016 but our chapters have been in operation since 2005 under the previous name of Architecture for Humanity. We are governed by a group of regional leaders and our board of directors. We believe in ground up action, fueled by inclusive participation. We have three simple principles guiding our activities: Be Open, Ensure Participation, Establish Trust."Migration

72 Hour Urban Action"72 Hour Urban Action is an upcoming voice in the global movement of participatory tactical urbanism, or as we like to call it, Urban Action. Urban Action is a civic design practice that involves residents, decision makers and professionals. It harnesses creative thinking and existing resources within a community to rapidly make places. Through the power of temporality and experimentation, it encourages participation and a lasting change of perception. Through an extreme deadline, a tight budget and limited space, Urban Action sets the imagination free to allow for new possibilities and players in public space."Urbanism- World's first real-time Architecture Competition

Precarity Pilot "Precarity Pilot is an online platform and a series of nomadic workshops that aim at addressing in inventive ways issues faced by precarious designers."
"[...] Precarity Pilot is an attempt to direct our efforts and everyday activities as designers towards constructing a different economic environment – both through what we produce and through the ways we practice and live. Precarity Pilot is not primarily concerned with stabilising precarious design practices as they are, but rather with creating conditions in which it is possible for designers to imagine and actuate what they could become when not pressured by precariousness to conform to the needs of the market."

Brave New Alps"We produce design projects that engage people in discussing and reconfiguring the politics of social and environmental issues. We combine design research methods with radical pedagogy, community economies and DIY making. We create a diversity of outputs, including spaces for making, learning and exchanging; commoning and community-building processes; events such as workshops and conferences; walks; mappings; documentations; installations. [...] In 2012, we registered as a cultural association in Italy in an attempt to explore what legal and organisational framework can support an eco-social design practice that wants to operate beyond the market, that is, outside the conventional client-designer framework."Environment

Radical Pedagogies"Architectural Education in a Time of Disciplinary Instability - RADICAL PEDAGOGIES is an ongoing multiyear collaborative research project by Beatriz Colomina with the PhD students at Princeton University School of Architecture. It has so far involved three years of seminars, interviews, archival research, guest lectures, and contributions by protagonists and scholars around the world. Architecture history and theory is taught and practiced as an experiment in itself, exploring the potential of collaboration— in what is often taught to be an individual field—and addressing the challenges and opportunities of new media."Education- Directory of Case Studies

Master's programme in Visual Communication, Konstfack"During two years you will be given the opportunity to challenge and deepen your graphic design and/or illustration practice in relation to broader social, cultural and economic contexts. With a take-off point in norm criticality, we study how identity, norms and borders are formed through the landscape of visual communication and how artistic methods can be developed to expand your own practice as well as the field. [...] Norm criticality involves the highlighting of power. For instance it implies to make visible and question norms that construct and support discriminatory attitudes and practices. Norm creativity embodies the aim to transform norm critical analysis into practice."Economic and Labour Issues

Eco-Nomadic School"The Eco-Nomadic School grew out of two pan-European collaborative research projects: PEPRAV (European Platform for Alternative Practice and Research in the City) in 2006/2007, and Rhyzom, from 2008-2010. The experience of taking field trips to study and meet other local projects across Europe led to a bigger idea: to use the budding network as a place for mutual learning – a school – where the curriculum is organised around the topics, needs and ambitions of local projects. [...] The school reflects the projects that comprise it. It’s informal, self-organised, de-centralised and geographically dispersed; non-hierarchical, peer-led and multi-lingual. Crucially, the roles of learner and teacher are interchangeable."Education- Book "Learn to Act"

Hello Stranger"Hello Stranger is a game to turn players into outsiders within their everyday environments. By employing estrangement devices and aspects of play theory, it uses “question-making” as a strategy to recalibrate how players report the overfamiliar and immediate. Played with members of staff at the V&A Museum of Childhood, it was devised as a tool to sense the museum anew, with critical reflection upon the experiences it offers and the qualities it values at a time of re-evaluation and redevelopment."Education
