|1/23||MWH Support groups in black resource binder||Update the MWH support groups (they do not include the incest support group in the binder; maybe type the added info in the binder to make it easier to read through;||KAB||Great suggestion! This is being updated||Yes||7/5/18||AW|
|1/23||Tabbing the black resource binder||Maybe add more tabs in areas like Food, Hotlines, and Financial Assistance||KAB||Great suggestion!||Yes||7/10/18||AW|
|1/23||Black resource binder table of contents||Maybe adding more info to the table of contents would be beneficial (like the MWH support groups and other support groups)||KAB||This definitely needs to be done! This can be resolved when a more comprehensive overhaul of the entire binder is done||AW|
|1/23||Layout of content in the black resource binder||It may be especially beneficial to use a more uniform layout for resources so there is a certain expectation of what we will find in the binder (maybe for counselors it could look like hours, payment type accepted, type of services offered (some of these are listed for some of the counselors, but maybe it would be beneficial to include all of these or more?||KAB||Working toward reformatting; will update when completed.||No; will update when completed.||KB|
|1/23||Call log (blue binder) lists||The NAIS and MSWCM lists may need updating to put them back into alphabetical order (there are hand-written names at the end)||KAB||This is not something CI staff does, but I can pass this along!||Yes||7/5/18||AW|
|1/23||Resident phone in hallway (by resident sign-in clipboard)||Is there any way this could be moved to a more private location? While this is a confidential area, there may be some calls residents don't wish to make/take in front of other residents or staff/volunteers.||KAB||Good question! This seems like something to bring up at our next all-shelter staff meeting! I will get this suggestion to the staff person in charge of that||Yes||7/11/18||AW|
|2/6||Resource binder/resource list||An additional resource that may be useful is the Crisis Text Line. This is a similar resource to the Suicide Hotline, but offers texting services instead of calling. Users text "Start" or "Home" to 741-741, and they will be connected with a Crisis Counselor. Disclaimers: the texts are limited to 160 words or less each, and the crisis counselors are volunteers, NOT professionals. More information for this is provided at https://www.crisistextline.org/ .||KAB||Thank you for this information! I will be adding this to the resources binder||Yes||7/11||AW|
|3/23||Hotlines in Resource Binder||Love is Respect 24/7 Talkline (for dating or sexual violence): 1-866-331-9474, or text "Love" to 22522||KAB/ Per suggestion of Sam Harrell||Great! I will update the current list||Yes||7/11/18||AW|
|3/23||Hotlines in Resource Binder||National Eating Disorder Helpline: M-Th 9A-9P & F 9A-5P, 1-800-931-2237||KAB/ Per suggestion of Sam Harrell||Great! I will update the current list||Yes||7/11/18||AW|
|3/23||Hotlines in Resource Binder||Text-About-It: text a local mental health professional, 1-812-200-0917, M-F 3P-12A||KAB/ Per suggestion of Sam Harrell||Great! I will update the current list||Yes||7/11/18||AW|
|3/23||Hotlines in Resource Binder||Binkley House Youth Shelter: Contact local sage place services at 812-349-2507 or call National Safe Place Number at 1-888-290-7233||KAB/ per suggestion of Sam Harrell||Great! I will update the current list||Yes||7/11/18||AW|
|3/23||Financial Assistance in Resource Binder||Making a chart (similar to the therapist list) might be useful. It could display what each of the businesses offers, the places they service, eligibility perhaps, and maybe hours of operation. For the back page, a lot of this information is written out but may still benefit from a more uniform display. The trustees do not show any information beyond the phone number, so I wonder if they are more of a case-by-case basis.||KAB||This has been added directly following the existing financial assistance section||Yes||8/5/18||KB|
|3/23||Domestic VIolence Victim's Assistance Compensation form in Resource Binder||The website listed for the freefrom quiz (compensation-quiz.freefrom.org) is an invalid link. Has this been taken down? I tried to locate the freeform.org site, but it does not appear to be a domain name of its own either. Is there an updated link we could put in here? Is this page where we could offer the Crime Victim Compensation Fund (http://victimsofcrime.org/help-for-crime-victims/get-help-bulletins-for-crime-victims/crime-victim-compensation)? Or, because of our grants are we not allowed to direct clients to that?||KAB||This link appears to be working now!||Yes||8/5/2018||KB|
|3/23||Support Groups||Could we make a support groups for people who may have been the perpetrator of violence? There is also something to be said about the crossover of people who may have experienced violence who may have also perpetrated violence.||KAB||We currently refer people to the BIP (in the black resource binder) for these types of services. They are court mandated for the most part, but historically there have been people who have called to join without a mandate.||Yes||8/10/18||KB|
|4/24||Black resource binder||Add resources for DV education classes for people court mandated to attend them (like in DCS cases)||KAB||It is recommended to say that the DCS caseworker they are working with should be able to provide them with that information, and if it feels comfortable they may seek that inforamtion by speaking with that pesron.||Yes||8/10/18||KB|
|6/18||Anonymous information box||Residents need an anonymous place to suggest/discuss/complain about things when they don’t feel comfortable talking to staff or volunteers. Exit interviews don’t seem to be filled out bc we know who’s doing them||GE||We have found that there is actually a resident suggestion box on the second floor! It is located in the quiet room, with papers for suggestions to be written on!||Yes||8/10/18||KB|
|6/27||Resource binder/resource list||Email Allison (email@example.com), Clinical Coordinator at the Youth Services Bureau to discuss child and family counseling referrals. I spoke with their Safe Place Coordinator yesterday, and while they do take non-Binkely shelter referrals, their capacity is limited. It seems like their counselors would be a really appropriate fit for parents who call about conflict/violence/stress they're experiencing with children.||SH||This would be SO useful to add to our resources! I have emailed Allison, and I will update the resource binder with the information they send!||No, will change when updated||KB|
|6/27||Resource binder/resource list||I think it would be helpful to write out in our CL binder a step-by-step process of what can happen when a youth goes to a Safe Place sign. This is a critical referral for a youth in danger and I think we can best empower youth by giving them accurate and thorough information. Brigitt is the Safe Place Coordinator for Monroe, Greene, & Owen county. You can contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.||SH||Awesome suggestion! I have emailed Brigitt and I will update this information once I have received word from them!||No, will change when updated||KB|
|7/23/18||Donations||Update donations written policy in CL office (and on the pin-up board)||KB||These have been updated by another staff person on the pin-up board.||Yes||8/5/18||KB|
