Child Development in OrphanagesDonate Money or American Express Card pointsWhole Child International works in existing children’s institutions to improve the quality of care and help prevent the bleak outcomes that await most children raised in the world’s orphanages. As long as orphanages exist, we are committed to cost-effective interventions to help ensure the children within can develop the basic psychological tools they need to succeed in school, work, relationships, and families of their own. We can close the cycle of despair that continues to keep generations of children from realizing their promise. / Endorsed by H.H. The Dalai Lama.

Climate ChangeSign Pan Buddhist Declaration on Climate ChangeThe Buddhist Declaration on Climate Change presents to the world's media a unique spiritual view of climate change and our urgent responsibility to address the solutions. It emerged from the contributions of over 20 Buddhist teachers of all traditions to the book A Buddhist Respose to the Climate Emergency. The Time to Act is Now was composed as a pan-Buddhist statement by Zen teacher Dr David Tetsuun Loy and senior Theravadin teacher Ven. Bhikkhu Bodhi with scientific input from Dr John Stanley. The Dalai Lama was the first to sign this Declaration. All concerned members of the international Buddhist community are being asked to study the document and consider adding their voice by co-signing it [at the Details link to right]

Foreign Assistance ReformAdvocate for AJWS Foreign Assistance Reform CampaignU.S. foreign assistance programs provide vital services to peoples around the world. However, conflicting goals, lack of coordination and an increasingly burdensome bureaucratic system limit the effectiveness of our foreign aid. Now is the time to reform U.S. foreign assistance, reducing red tape and redundancy and putting the focus where it belongs, on alleviating poverty and hunger and promoting human rights. There are bills in both the House (H.R. 2139) and the Senate (S. 1524) that are important first steps toward foreign assistance reform. But the Congress needs to know that the American people support these efforts!U.S. foreign assistance programs provide vital services to peoples around the world. Hunger -- Global
Donate, Attend eventsThe mission of Buddhist Global Relief (BGR) is to provide relief to the poor and needy throughout the world regardless of nationality, ethnicity, gender, or religion. Bearing in mind the Buddha’s statements that “hunger is the worst kind of illness” and “the gift of food is the gift of life,” BGR especially focuses on providing food aid to those afflicted by hunger and lack of food security. Its long-range goal, however, is to combat all the manifestations of poverty that detract from the inherent dignity of human life.http://www.buddhistglobalrelief.org/main.html
