The information on costs and expenses (sensor, working hours) are estimates based on experience. Particularly with regard to working hours, the uncertainty is correspondingly high and actual expenses may be higher or lower. For the determination of site-specific costs, the concrete on-site conditions (e.g. accessibility of measurement sites, soil conditions) must therefore be included in the consideration in any case.

The information on the working time required relates to the individual measurement and is calculated for one year in each case. For measurements foreseen in a several year-interval the annual average is provided (= effort per measurement divided by the time interval of repetition - e.g. SOGEO003 - the estimated time required for the measurement is 1 day. Since the measurement has to be repeated in the interval of 5 years, the provided time required/year is 0.2 days).

Many of the measurement activities for SOs can be combined (e.g., field sampling can be performed for different SOs in one field campaign). However, the estimates given for required time ("working days/year" in operation-annual costs) refer to the effort for the respective, individual SOs (without combination with other SOs).

The time spent traveling to and from the sites is directly related to the location of the corresponding site and is not included in the provided number for the time effort. For the final calculation of the effort, this time effort must be calculated specifically for each site and included in the determination of the actual time effort.
