The program was based on Apple's challenge based learning and was dual content in science and social studies - from practices, to assessment, to how we built and tested the feedback loop for proficiency. Examples will be provided of how learning scales can be used to drive instruction and help students become invested in what they are learning as well as track their progress. We will explore how to implement a basic 4 point scale into daily practice as a starting point then move to creating and/or using more specific 4 point scales that vary in level of difficulty. Participants will gain an understanding of how learning scales can be used in daily instruction and be provided with resources to help them to start using learning scales within their own classroom.
