Katharina BorchertO1: Operationalize the Open Innovation strategy through pilot projects1.02.03.04.04.08.0

pfinchKR1: Pilot project owners score OI team value-add 4 or higher (on a scale of 5)123.333.333.3310Pilot projects have yet to be decided by mmayo and swhiteFour pilot projects decided by swhite and mmayo: Speech Recognition, WebVR, Project Starling and Context Graph. 1 is underway, 1 has started, 2 are pending availability or readiness from internal partners. All will run in 2H 2017.All projects are underway with very positive stakeholder engagement. Scoring will take place in early December. All projects are underway with very positive stakeholder engagement. Scoring will take place in early December. The Web embedding pilot has changed scope significantly. The WebVR initiative is focused on A-Frame and will make recommendations on governance at the end of November.

pfinchKR2: Each pilot project has a documented ecosystem strategy and explicit model of openness113455Pilot projects have yet to be decided by mmayo and swhiteThis is an explicit goal of two pilot projects so far, the other two pilot projects need further scoping. Voice is moving ahead with a strategy workshop. WebVR is focused on the ecosystem around A-Frame, and governance research for that project is underway. Servo Embedding is fundamentally about an early-stage ecosystem strategy, and the insights the project delivers will define that strategy. We've got clear scope for Voice and A-Frame on delivering explicit strategies or project governance. For the Web embedding pilot, this has been removed from scope as we're focused on validating market fit for the concept.Common Voice has a clearly documented analysis of its ecosystem, and an explicit target for its end-state of openness. For WebVR, we were doing to tackle A-Frame governance. This work is underway, but incomplete as of Dec 18th due to staff illness. Servo Embedding delivered ecosytem analysis initially, but has changed scope substantially, invalidating some of that work.

Katharina BorchertO2: Build capabilities that speak to the Open Innovation strategy2.02.05.05.06.07.0

groterKR1: Build 4 capabilities advancing the open innovation strategy225577we've identified the capabilities and started to define what advancing them meansa bit more definition on what advancing these looks likeScoring is now on this tab: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jLy7c-aA2CeC-uFRj0K7fMnyOV6_x58pC9kKpigRXtg/edit#gid=279360504We have identified and defined a series of capabilities, and started to demonstrate our ability to bring value to the organization with them. We have identified and scoped Service Design, Technical crowdsourcing, Innovation/idea challenges, D&I in community design, Pre-defined task crowdsourcing as specific capabilities, and have demonstrated capacity (partially or wholly) in 4 of these 5 areas.

groterKR2: Each of OI's medium and long-term investments has an engaged partner elsewhere in MoCo2253.3357.5IAM has an engaged partner in IT, we have yet to finalize what our other long-term investments are or define what an engaged partner for each meanscampus/students is definitely identified as another long-term investment, as it CoSS ... others are still TBD. Working through identifying partners.Scoring is now on this tab: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jLy7c-aA2CeC-uFRj0K7fMnyOV6_x58pC9kKpigRXtg/edit#gid=279360504IAM has an engaged partner, CoSS somewhat. Mission-Driven Mozillians somewhat. OSSN not at all yet.IAM, CoSS and Mission Driven Mozillians all have fully committed partners in MoCo (applying their own resources toward these investments). Open Source Student Network does now.

pfinchKR3: Have ROI measures in place for 90% of OI community investments over $10k113557haven't identified what each of these investments areSold progress on a method to measure all projects. Not all projects have reported their results yet, but this is on track. We've created a framework, have an overview of community investments, understood the costs and are working with business onwers on the ROI right now.
10
groterKR4: Deliver 2 roadmaps, for community development and participation systems, that support the open innovation strategy235557.5both ParSys and Community Development have early drafts of roadmaps ... good progress heresolid progress here on both -- plan for a plan on Community Development, and alignment with IT leadership on ParSysStrong progress on Community Development ... very much on-track to deliver by the end of the quarter. Conversations on ParSys, but detailed roadmap is waiting for project prioritization.Community Development has roadmaps for Mission Driven Mozillians, OSSN and Community D&I. Participation Systems has drafts in progress, but waiting for overall company 2018 plans and Open Innovation project prioritization.
