I am an African American/Afro-Caribean Sis Male Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP), Master Addictions Counselor (MAC), Qualified & Trained Federal Department of Transportation Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), and Consultant. I provide individual, couples, and family counseling services for adolescents (15+) and adults, DOT SAP evaluations , and substance use disorder recovery support, with some telebehavioral health options via “Zoom Video Conferencing”.

As a psychotherapist, I have a strong interpersonal psychotherapy orientation, which is rooted in attachment theory. However, my approach is referred to as Technical Eclecticism, and is typically solution-focused while remaining flexible enough to tailor the appropriate counseling approach to the issue being addressed. I regularly work with clients on some of the common issues: major life transitions, depression, anxiety, work stress, work-life balance, racial identity, acculturation concerns, family of origin issues, grief, trauma, struggles with non-heteronormative relationship styles and issues affecting LGBTQ+ community members, and addiction recovery support.

I also have particular expertise working with pregnant and parenting mothers, issues in Fatherhood, Substance Use Disorder and/or Eating Disorder during pregnancy, working with individuals with Co-occurring Disorders, issues related to transitions into parenthood/parenting, African-American mental health, University Student life, and supporting families, partners, and persons impacted by substance abuse. See website for more details and my other areas of expertise.
Currently, the majority of my practice fees are not directly billable to health insurance. However, I am able to provide clients with the appropriate fee for service invoices for insurance carrier reimbursement. Counseling is also eligible for reimbursement with a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA) or a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) as well.
