6/13/2026 10:36:33Jewelry, Machine ShopFlexible. Hi. I need help making sterling silver custom contact screws for tattoo machines I’m making.
It is basically a screw 3/4 inch line threaded 8/32. With 1/4 inch left unthreaded. The unthreaded part can be left bare, or knurled. Or some simple design. Ideally I’d like to get C.H.F.C. On the bare part. But most importantly I need to get the screws made. Again ideally I’d like 50. But I’m flexible and would be happy with a smaller amount. Any amount really. Please feel free to reach out if you feel this is a job you’d be interested in. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Hope everyone is well.

6/10/2026 19:49:59Foundry, Welding, All aspects of making bronze statues. Expensive. Completion 1 year +Hi folks, I'm reaching out to your community with an opportunity for teachers, apprentices or craftsman. Now we are making waxes and pouring them in bronze. These 450 pieces will be welded to make a 30ft tall, standing statue. It will be polished and gold leafed when it's installed and finished. My simple question to you is, we are looking for volunteers who would be interested in helping on this project? Now, email me I will give you any general information you would like. Then if you're still interested about helping on this world class project, I will give you the application and complete contact information.

6/1/2026 16:45:52Blacksmithing, Kinetics & Electronics, Welding, printing on metals 500I want to create a kennetic wind sculpture with a photograph of my late niece that is revealed as the parts of the sculpture oscillates.

maybe about 12" wide and 24" tall - ill have to confirm dimensions with the cemetery to be sure. The base would have to be sturdy to withstand the wind as her gravsite is at the top of a hill, water resistant, I would also like the stem of the sculpture to have 2-3 "cup of holders" of various diameters to place small flower pots for decorating.

i feel like it might be a multi disciplinary project?

5/4/2026 12:09:57Glass Blowing, Glass Casting & Coldworking, Glass Flameworking, Glass Fusing & SlumpingTBDHello,
I am curious whether you would do a commissioned piece for a glass wall light sconce? The ones I see online are overpriced and the wrong size. We are remodeling a 1908 home in Mill Valley and would prefer something from a local artist any way. Some of the pieces I am looking at include Murano Glass “Alligatore” Sconces but I would want them about 12" high and we probably need about 6 of them.

9/5/2025 17:33:14Blacksmithing, Welding$1,000My partner and I live on Hartford in the Castro in San Francisco. We have kind of a unique and specific need that would be focused on your welding and/or ironworking classes. We have a stovetop from an industrial brand called Dacor that is missing a grate. We have searched high and low for a replacement and have come to understand that there are no longer any replacement grates available. We need one made to a specific size but it doesn't have to match the grates that are currently on the stove. In fact, if someone from The Crucible wants to design a different grate that fits the overall specs we may actually want you to make two. Our kitchen is a bit eclectic so a lack of uniformity would fit and we would see that as fun. I can send you a photo and give you all the specs if this is a project that sounds interesting. I'm not sure how this works in terms of payment and/or donation so would love to hear more about that if this fits the kind of project you would want to take on. 7/17/2025 18:54:58WeldingIDKI'm looking for a certified welding shop or certified field welder. We are deciding whether to option A) recreate a metal balcony railing welded from 1"x1" square tube stock, aprox 20' long with a 5' return, the vertical posts are 4' on center'ish, with 4"x4" baseplates. or option B) bring 1"x1" tube stock to the field and fix it in place, with a special inspector on site watching (yes, option B also requires a certified field welder, apparently). Keyword is 'certified,' apparently. 7/11/2025 12:43:45Blacksmithing50-350??I have a set of custom juggling knives that i designed with a friend who had them laser cut out of mild steel. We chose mild steel so they would hold up to being dropped, however they’re a little too soft, and I’m hoping i can find someone to harden them a little so they will bend a bit less.

I’d also like to have the edges profiled, and possibly have handles made.

There are 4 knives I’d like profiled, hardened, and possibly have handles added.

I’m not sure at all what the budget for a project like this would be, so please let me know what your rates are.

M. Metz - this is in progress4/16/2025 8:36:58Blacksmithing, Foundry, Machine Shop, Welding250-500I am a stained glass artist and I am putting together a show for the fall with the theme, "Float." As a part of the show, one of my pieces is a 30" long set of rainbow stained glass angel wings made entirely from Fremont Antique Glass (yep, they are glorious lol). I am hoping to get help building a pair of custom metal stands for them, preferably with lights in the bases. Goal would be to mount them high enough for people to be able to pose in front of them for pictures. An alternative option (which I actually kinda love) would be to create a metal "harness" (think drummers in marching band meets Roman gladiator) that I could actually attach the wings to (and yes, they could be worn!), with a stand that could be placed under the harness for display. If this sounds like something that someone might be able to help me out with, I sure would love to talk to them!Done by Aug 2025Side project to my day job ;)https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fTrJJmnCW6Ta63lBelQDGeQXZPJDu5st/view?usp=sharingAndi White510-541-5620Text or EmailAndrea White 04/16/2025

1/24/2025 7:38:18Blacksmithing, Enameling, Foundry, Jewelry, Machine Shop, Moldmaking, Don't know.I don't know, probably more than 50 bucks. One Off Hand Made Fishing Reels, I have done some rudimentary metal work. I have a very comprehensive shop in terms of the basic tooling, lathes, mill etc. I need a consultation on the "other" tooling I will need to acquire to get to making reels. I plan to make reels from coin silver, nickel silver, copper alloys, brass, bronze, so I need to be able to make blanks to cut out parts since some of these metals are not available in the sizes I would need. Also some parts are best cast not cut, like reel handles and foot. A continuing relationship consulting while I go through the process a few times would be great. I am exploring a slightly different angle on the traditional fishing reel, back to its jewelry roots. So I need to be able to take various metals to molded rough parts to finish on my Jewelers Lathe. Some parts can be easily cut out of sheets or cylinders like Aluminum but Nickel Silver just doesn't come in usable sheets of cylinders. The parts I'm making will probably never exceed 4 inches, typically 2 to 3. I have about 70 pounds of a very pretty alloy called white bronze that was made up for another reel maker decades ago but he could never use it, it is filled with tiny bubble voids, to use it I'll have to remelt it, get it into molds, vacuum, and vibrate. This is my loose understanding....I also want to use enameling on my reels as well as aggressive heat treating for finishes, kind of like a knife maker. To move on to this next phase of tackle making I'll need a consultant to both figure out what I need in tooling and then to guide me through the various processes until I've got a routine for it worked out. Ultimately, I will make fly fishing kits in which I have made everything, rod, reel, flies, box, as tributes to fabled fishing destinations. A rather daunting list of capabilities but all I need now is to be able to produce the reel. If you think this is cool call me.now, I may want to purchase soon to avoid the coming tariffs.I'm some kind of artist or other.....The Whimsical Reel Company703 517 0496email or textJoseph Scheer 1 24 2025
