23 | May we all be healthy, happy, and safe from harm. We’re all in this together. Standing in solidarity with Hospital frontline workers, Sanitation workers, Small/local business owners, Delivery drivers, public transit operators, Grocery store workers and all folks taking on additional risks to help keep our community healthy. Background/Context This spreadsheet was created by Taylor Nawrocki (aseriouslady@gmail.com) on 3/14/2020. On 3/17/2020 Taylor worked collaboratively with Advocate Volunteers and Staff at the Community Empowerment Fund (CEF) to adapt the resource bank based on comments from the community and officially updated the document on 3/19/2020. On 4/6/2020, CEF partnered with volunteers from the Duke Student Collaborative on Health Policy (SCOHP), and the Duke Bass Connections "Help Desk" project team to combine lists. This document serves as a tool for all Durham residents to access up-to-date information on community resources. Resources include a mixture of mutual aid and community response, non-profit and government support, and private sectors/corporate response. Inclusion of any resource on this list is not an endorsement of a service, but an effort to get folks all the possible information. These resources are being upkept by volunteer-power through CEF, SCOHP, and Help Desk for the forseeable future. Our team is checking resource websites, social media, and calling organizations directly to update this tool. We also request direct feedback from the public through comments on this spreadsheet. We will respond as promptly as possible to edits and new resources. In order to share information rapidly and support informal community response, this team is cannot guarantee the quality or accuracy of resources before posting and updating, so please contact all sources directly! We want to increase the language and ADA accessibility of this document. If anyone has translation capacity or specific resources for our Latinx neighbors, please reach out to leahw@communityef.org. If you or someone you know needs support navigating this document, we will be staffing a phone line daily from 9:30-5:30 starting on Tuesday, March 24 at 9:30 am. Call in for support at 919-797-9233. During this time of crisis, this document is meant to support all efforts that help us meet our needs and support our neighbors, especially marginalized folks most affected by COVID-19. We must look out for each other and everyone is highly encouraged to connect with local mutual aid efforts to share community resources and build power to organize for change. If there are ways that CEF can better support existing community care and mutual aid efforts, please feel free to let us know by contacting leahw@communityef.org. | |||||||||||
