Priorities for the 2025-26 School Year

If a school receives more applicants than available space, schools will hold a random lottery. Schools use some enrollment priorities to determine how applicants are given preference in their lottery. Below is a list of priorities used by each charter school participating in the common application.

4. Students who are currently enrolled in or who reside in the zip codes 94602, 94605, 94606, 94619, 94621 and 94601 which encompasses the attendance areas of the local elementary school.

Francophone Charter School of OaklandNote: Francophone has separate quotas for French speaking and non-French speaking students, which may change how priorities affect chances of getting an offer.

Latitude 37.8 High School - An Education for Change Public School1. Children of founding families (this priority will be capped at 10% of total enrollment)

4. Geographic—In order to meet the requirement that preference for admission be offered to students who reside in the Oakland Unified School District, Latitude will ensure that at least 85% of slots for admission will be allocated to students residing in Oakland. Latitude identifies attendance regions consisting of several contiguous zip code areas or “clusters.” Using United States Census data, Latitude determines the percentage of school aged students residing within each zip code cluster and provides weighting within the lotteries designed to encourage a corresponding level of enrollment from each zip code cluster.
5. SES—Similar to the zip code weightings, weightings are implemented to encourage SES diversity. Weightings for SES are designed to ensure that at least 50% of admitted students are eligible to receive free and reduced price meals under the NSLP.
