Why are these works a part of student method books? Why are they presented to students with no historical context or recognition of the harm they cause?

Why aren't more works by Black, Brown, Indigenous, or Asian composers and arrangers included in method books?

Are pieces such as "Indian Song" a true representation of a culture? Or are they reductive, appropriative, and relying on both musical and lyrical stereotypes?
