1 | National Poverty lines Dataset - v2 via Gapminder
2 | About this file | This file has multiple sheets with data for one or more indicators used by Gapminder. In this sheet below you'll first find an overview of the indicators (measures) and the list of underlying sources. The actual data we use, is found in the sheet(s) labeled "data-...". This file is also a documentation of the data process. To follow how the data was transformed from the original sources, start in the sheet to the far right, which holds the input data. You can then follow the process step by step, by looking at the formulas in the sheets from right to left, until you reach the output in the "data-..." sheets.

11 | 1 | National poverty line | This is the minimum level of income deemed adequate in a particular country. 14 | Dataset description: | The National poverty lines have been imported from Our world in data. We also used the World Bank's Policy Research Working Paper: "Estimating International Poverty Lines from Comparable National Thresholds"written by Dean Jolliffe Espen Beer Prydz in 2016. We converted the data from USD 2011 PPP to USD 2017 PPP. If there were two values for the same year and country from different sources we took as valid the value from OWID. In this dataset the poverty and inequality data are expressed in 2017 Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) prices, versus 2011 PPP in previous editions. The backbone of the poverty and inequality estimates are country-level household survey unit record data or grouped data, obtained largely by the Poverty and Equity Global Practice, which works closely with National Statistical Offices, and collected in the World Bank’s Global Monitoring Database (GMD). Consumption or income aggregates from such surveys are deflated over time using national consumer price indices and price differences across countries are reflected through purchasing power parity conversion factors.
