All six POS learning outcomes were assessed in this assessment period.Three types of evidence were used to assess achievement of POS learning outcomes: student work submitted for course assignments, capstone course writing samples, and student capstone exit survey responses. We also hoped to use alumni survey responses, but we did not receive any prior to the submission of our assessment materials. For the additional information required here please see the POS Assessment Narrative, submitted in conjunction with this report. The Program Assessment 3 Year Summary Report for Department of Political Science also contains some of this information. POS is going to focus on increasing the percentage of students who meet or exceed the Disciplinary Knowledge 1 and Disciplinary Knowledge 2 learning outcomes. We are also going to attempt to increase sense of connection and feelings of community among POS students and faculty. These efforts will begin immediately and will be assessed periodically over the next three years.
