Synopsis
6
This spreadsheet is based on raw data from the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). It includes all named localities presently under Israeli civilian administration, and includes geographic data, foundation date, population and main population group for each.

Notes
9
1. Various translations to the data have been made by VP, including longitude/latitude coordinates (from Israeli grid references), addition of district names, population group names and 'datetime' stamp for foundation year.
10
2. Data includes Israeli-Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank and Golan Heights, but does not include Palestinian communities in the occupied territories.
11
3. Data excludes Israeli settlements that have been dismantled, including in the Egyptian Sinai (1982) and Gaza Strip (2005).
12
4. A small number of localities are not populated, or do not have a recorded population, eg. Miqwe Yisra'el (a school, and the olded 'Jewish' locality, founded 1870).
13
5. Latin names of localities are as defined by the Israeli CBS, and generally reflect transliterations of Hebrew rather than common English names or transliterations of Arabic (Palestinian localities).
14
6. Foundation years are precisely as published by the Israel CBS. In some cases, eg. the historic cities of Acre (Akka), Lydda (Lod) and Ramla, the year (1948) likely relates to the founding of the Israeli municipality.
