I was actively involved in Epic Movement (Asian-American college ministry) during all four of my college years at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I have experience playing lead/rhythm electric guitar in worship band during our large group meetings. I can also play acoustic guitar, but I can't sing and play at the same time.
Although I am still very new to Ignite, I am interested in joining worship band. I have been seeking a new community to get connected with after graduating from college and moving back to the San Jose area. I love playing/listening to all kinds of music genres from metal to Christian and have always had a passion for using my talents to bring glory to God. As a side note, I heard the worship band is looking for some more electric guitarists, and Gigi and Jeremy have strongly encouraged me to apply for worship band, so I figured I'd do it.

to more actively participate in offering high praise to God through ignite worship
Yes; I would play guitar and sing. I've also played cajon to support another person leading, but I am definitely not a skilled cajon player, haha.

I don't sing professionally or even habitually in public anymore... but I sang as part of my high school youth group and was in an a cappella group in college (lol).
High school youth worship team! I played keyboard and sang, and occasionally played the drums for the team when absolutely necessary. All of this was ages ago, though, so my keyboard skills and what little drumming skills I had have largely disintegrated.
I once applied to join about 3 years ago and couldn't continue the process because I was hit with an unusual case of chronic laryngitis. God has actually very miraculously healed my voice box over the past year or so, and I feel that it's time again to apply. I believe I can serve the church in this way, and that participating in leading worship (even as a background singer/harmony singer or anything) is something I am called to do, eventually. Whether that's for right now, at Ignite, is up to the Ignite worship leaders, of course! :)

Led worship a few times at College CG
Past 2 summers (just graduated college)
Played keys in church for 10 years, leading worship for 6 years
Led worship in my high school youth group and college small group and sometimes church on Sunday. If reference is needed, I can ask my pastor from University Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles (college church).
For me, worship is a time of intimately experiencing God, and I want to help others experience God in the same way. I would also like to get involved in serving God with the Ignite family.
