Pregnacy diagnosis and fetal sexing of pregnancies generated via embryo transfer and natural service. Generation of embryos via conventional flushing and IVF methods. The position requires 100% of duties to take place on farm. The lab work associated with the generation of embryos is the responsibility of other members on the team. The individual in the embryologist position will be transferring embryos which does not require any scientific training. The process is repetitive and involves manual manipulation of the reproductive tract of the cow rectally while inserting the embryo transvaginally. Additionally pregnancy diagnosis does not require scientific training. The employee will again be inserting the probe rectally and visualizing the pregnancy and assigning the correct sex to it based on the image seen. Again this a repetitive process that while technical does not require specialized scientific training. For our operation these two primary duties (90% of work preformed) are routine animal breeding tasks we do every year on the scale of 5,000 transfers per year. As to the seasonal nature of the work, in the state of Georgia the majority of purebred cattle producers have fall calving seasons. In order for calves to arrive during the calving season there is a large fall breeding rush which begins at the end of October and doesn’t end until the weather starts to warm in late April and early May. The beef industry as a whole is always seasonal in this way and that is one thing that separates it from the dairy industry where year round calving is the norm. The minimum education requirement is not meant to indicate a requirement of specialized scientific training. There will be no requirement to preform tasks covered by the vet practice act in the state of Georgia.https://seasonaljobs.dol.gov/jobs/H-300-25223-233225EmbryologistMadisonBlakeWalker16787876269dogwoodgeneticsllc@gmail.comgc1rhino@gmail.comH-2A

Corn harvesting will be performed mule train and corn belt style in crews on approximately 20 pullers. Workers will be pulling sweet corn off the stalk and tossing it into a metal bin on the mule train or corn belt. Workers will walk behind, in front of, or drive the mule train or corn belt. Workers must keep up with the mule train/corn belt as it moves slowly through the field at a speed ranging from ½ mile to one mile per hour. Assemble boxes/crates on the top of the mule train. Packers will pick corn out of the bins and place 48 ears into pre-made crates. Packed crates are then moved to workers who will fold and close the lid of the crates and push them down the conveyor belt system. Loaders will then lift and stack the full crates of corn onto the truck. Timekeepers will count and check the crates as they are loaded onto the truck and maintain daily log of hours and record number of harvested boxes. Corn is harvested in the early morning hours starting before daylight, while temperatures are cooler. This ensures that the sugar content of the corn is higher and provides a better-quality product. A generator powered lighting system is used during early morning hours. Sweet corn must be harvested by pulling down while bending and reaching to select mature ears. Workers must carefully select ears of corn of correct size and maturity and toss into bin. Workers will assist in Good Agricultural Practices polices. Long-sleeved shirts and long pants are recommended to minimize contact with the plants and thereby reduce the exposure to cuts and scrapes. Gloves are recommended when working with wooden crates. Workers may be requested to submit to random drug or alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. All drug testing will occur during the interview process and will be conducted at the sole cost and discretion of the employer.
