Where Teachers add their data
8
Teachers should click on the "Data" tab on the bottom of the spreadsheet to get started. Each class on the grade level will be listed, organized by teacher. Colums K through Z are editable. Several Columns (Academics, ELA, Math, and Behavior) are graded on a four point scale.
1 = emerging, 2 = approaching grade level, 3 = on grade level, 4 = exceeding grade level

Student Services
11
The student services categories (ESL, Speech, OT, PT, LRC, CSE, 504) simply require an "x" if the student qualifies.

The Down Arrows
14
Many of the editable fields have a down pointing arrow. Clicking this arrow presents a menu with the acceptable choices for that cell. You can use this arrow, or you can type in the field.

"Do Not Place With" and "Special Notes" Fields
18
On the far right of the "Data" sheet you find the "Do Not Place With" and the "Special Notes" cells. Use commas between students who should be separated from the child in question. In the notes section, include anything that would be relevant to placement, including, but not limited to, strengths, weaknesses, and notes about parents)

Selecting Next Year's Class
21
Teachers are asked to do an initial placement when they add their class data. The "Next Class" cell will contain a number for each avalable class in the down arrow menu.

23
Analyzing the Numbers (Using the Dashboard)
24
As teachers place students into classes, the numbers are instantly updated on the class dashboards. These can be found in the "Dashboard" tabs on the bottom of the spreadsheet. Since this is a realtime update, teachers can use the dashboard to inform initial placement. Once all the student data is added to the sheet, the articulation team can review the dashboards together to fine tune placement. To adjust the classes, simply change the "Next Class" cell next to students on the "Data" sheet. You cannot change classes on the Dashboard pages.

Alphabetical student rosters are listed under each class on the dashboard, along with the "Do Not Place With" and the "Special Notes" fields.
