VWU Fraternity and Sorority Life Standards (Revised for 2018-2019)

Chapters are required to meet expectations in each category and are encouraged to exceed. Supporting materials must be displayed during the chapter's end-of-semester Standards Presentation, which is open to campus. Documentation is a requirement for points and could include photos, flyers, sign-in sheets, or print-outs.

Chapter Recognition and Awards:

*The chapter with the most points at the end of the calendar year wins Chapter of the Year. That chapter must meet expectations in the Operations category. The Chapter is: a) added to the banner, and may receive, b) a certificate and a funding bonus, and c) recognition in OSA online and print marketing and at a campus gathering.

*Chapters who exceed expectations in all applicable categories may receive: a) a certificate and a funding bonus, b) recognition in OSA online and print marketing and at a campus gathering.

*Chapters who meet expectations in all categories may receive, a) recognition in OSA online and print marketing and at a campus gathering.

Failure to receive the "Meets Expectations" standard in all categories will result in the following:

*1st Semester: Warning. VWU contacts headquarters and the chapter advisors to notify them of results.

*2nd Semester: Probation. Same as above, and the chapter must submit a recovery plan to OSA during the first week of classes.

*3rd Semester: Suspension of Privileges. Same as above, and the chapter may lose privileges as deemed appropriate by OSA or the Vice President of Student Affairs (ex. participation in certain functions).

*4th Semester: VWU reviews the chapter's activities and determines appropriate response (ex. suspension of operations).
