In the 1950s and 1960s Pop artists were arising because of the new form of mass media and the prosperous economy. Television was new and was a great way to spread pop culture, and after a successful war people were looking into consumer goods.
This imagery is different because it displays more of the current events and what was more popular for the times. And Dada art was more symmetrical and not too reflective the 20s era.
I picked Andy Warhol because his art was very fun and modern for its time. His message was very much about the pop culture from the 1950s. A lot of his art was pop art, and was mainly consumer goods from the 1950s, he displayed the prosperous time period and the goods that were introduced to keep people buying.
I enjoyed the field trip very much, all the different art was very impressive and they were fun to look at. I also liked the "scavenger hunt" for the different paintings as well. The only bad thing was the traffic, but I would definitely do it again.

Pop artists started looking for inspiration based off of their surroundings.
It is similar but different. The only difference is Dada artists didn't have much meaning to their artwork.
Jackson Pollock was famous for his "drip paintings". His influences started coming together and guided him to create more mature styles of art. He spent many years printing realism types of artwork, as well as surrealism and cubism.
I enjoyed it very much and would most definately want to do it again.

There was a lot of propaganda
In the 20th century art was used to get men to join the military and women to join the workforce
The message is women have a place in society and men have one also so there art depicts what they should be
Let's do it again

A new culture formed with greasers, poodle skirts, and beatniks
The art was more colorful and creative
Andy Warhols artwork was fun to look at because he turned simple thing into art and a lot of color. Which I thought meant what a good time the 50-60s were
A lot of fun and very cool art

There was racial problems going on at the time.
Jackson Pollock's art message was how messy life can be and how it's hard to fully comprehend what is truly going on.
Overall I really liked the experience, it was my first time going and I really enjoyed it.

Pop artists began to look for inspiration in the world around them, representing—and, at times, making art directly from—everyday items, consumer goods, and mass media.
This imagery based from everyday life.............
The woman here says "hello," but it's hardly a greeting. The word-baloon resembles icicles and she turns away from us, eyes downcast, giving us the "cold shoulder." Lichtenstein painted this in 1963, near the beginning of his long obsession with comics, as can be seen in the woman's skin rendered to resemble so-called Benday (printer's) dots - a hand-made imitation of a mechanized process. Cold Shoulder is thus painting of a picture rather than of a person.

The artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, James Rosenquist, and Claes Oldenburg made the evolutions of pop art.
It changed from Abstract Expressionists to direction of modernism.
Roy Litchenstein: the picture" Cold Shoulder" : the woman says "hello", but it's hardly a greeting. the word-balloon resembles icicles and she turns away from us, eyes downcast, giving us the " cold shoulder".
It was fun and interesting.

The Cold War
Dada artists often preferred experimentation rather than internal emotions.
Andy Warhol was trying to show people a new type of art. He was obsessed with the idea of image and truth in life. He said that appearance and surfaces were the only reality. He wanted people to know appearance wasn't important it was the personality.
It was fun and educational but not a lot of exhibits were open. I wish I could have explored more.

In the 1950s and 1960s when Pop artists began there was the fear of communism taking over the world and the Cold War against Russia.
This imagery differs from Dada in that Dada expressed luxury in the 20s and great sadness in the 30s and now imagery is trying to show that being different is needed.
Andy Warhol's message from their art in the 50s and 60s was that artists should be able to change their style and not feel like you are losing something because of the change.
It was awesome. I would totally go again and take Dani.

post-War European art revolution
the artists of the 20th century showed that society wasn't what it seemed and many of the art works unmasked the social movements being made.
these artists have art a new idea and a new face they would change the way art was produced and the way art is today and this influenced society because of all the new POP culture which began popping many things such as music fashion and art. Pop art has become one of the most recognizable styles of modern art.

Economic prosperity, the art style was a reflection of the colorful and luxurious times.
Dada was meant to provoke, while Pop Art held a visual aesthetic that was pleasing to the eye.
Andy Warhol created colorful pieces of appropriated pop art, they delivered a sense of nostalgia and joy from their use of colors and pop images.

I'll just do my questions for alternate assignment here:)
1) The 1950s and the 1920s experienced many similar trends due to both eras being post war.
2) The 20s was more geared towards establishing a strong government and economy after the war, while the 50s sparked the beginning of the Civil Rights Era and focused on technological advances.
3) One major contrast between the two decades is the technological development, we were nearly ahead of our own selves in the 50s.

During this time, Pop artists found the 1950s and 1960s a perfect time to start coming out with art to be sold and to connect with the society.
This imagery differs from that used by Dada artists earlier in the 20th century because their main goal was to express nationalism while in the 50s and 60s it was to be for pop culture.
Andy Worhol message was to bring popular styles and subjects into the high art world.

Dada artist were really loud in their art about what they were thinking during that time. Unlike artist in the 1950s who were told how to express themselves.
The message of Andy Warhol's art is all connected with the issues that needed to known during that time. Like his most famous painting was the Campbell's soup can.

After the war, the economy was boosted, so consumer products were made again. Artists wanted to break away from conformity and drew inspiration from consumer products.
Dada artists attempted to provoke emotions and shock people while pop artists wanted to entertain others.
