Quetzal doula is rooted in the lessons and skills I receive from my own ancestral healing journey. I seek to provide culturally-humble and healing-informed doula care because I believe that when we meaningfully engage with our present selves, our ancestors, and our future generations we have the power to heal intergenerational wounds and help create a healthier, safer, and more connected world. I will offer you continuous physical, informational, and energetic support and encouragement to help you feel safe and well cared for during your experience, and I will hold a comforting, grounded, and unbiased space for you to release and process any range of emotions, opinions, and situations that may arise.

Megan BaylesMegan Baylesmegan.bayles@gmail.com651-338-9093Sliding scale/low cost offeringsSupporting all family formations, including LGBTQ+, gender non-conforming, and single parents.Labor and Birth servicesI strive to be a calm and assuring presence, to help you trust your body, to help partners and/or other members of the birth team to feel supported and confident about their role(s), and to bring some humor into the process whenever possible. My style of doula work is very pragmatic; I try to spot what needs to be done in any given moment, and to do it (or empower another member of the birth team to do it!). I didn't birth at Pacifica, but I did birth my first son at a birth center.

Sibling Doula
As a DONA trained Birth and Postpartum Doula, I have facilitated individualized births in homes, birth centers and hospitals throughout San Francisco and the East Bay. I am equally at home, and can help you feel at home, in any of these settings. My clients will attest that I am calm, empathetic, supportive and highly skilled. My doula practice also benefits from the comprehensive knowledge I gained as an administrator in the postpartum unit at Berkeley’s Alta Bates Hospital. My experience as a certified massage therapist also strengthens my practice. I take great pride in instilling confidence in parents, and it is my joy to do so.
