DRYBEAR'S APEX LEGENDS TTK CALCULATOR
twitch.tv/drybear youtube/drybeargamers
SOME NOTES:

Havoc & Devotion are treated as if they are fully spun up, since I don't have true spin up / charge up values & curves. Unless they are Turbocharged, their values here would be lessened.

The Prowler and Hemlok burst calculations needed to be approximated, as I found no reliable source online that gave me numbers that matched what I was seeing in game for how these weapons perform on Burst Fire. However, as an easy rule of thumb Hemlok Single Shot and Prowler Auto will always be better DPS than their Burst Fire equivalents if you can maintain decent accuracy at full fire rate.

Interesting tidbit: Helmets REDUCE THE WHOLE HIT OF DAMAGE when you take a headshot, not just the bonus damage from the headshot itself. For example, if the Longbow DMR normally hits for 55 and 110 for a Headshot... a Helmet would lower the entire hit of 110 damage, not just the bonus 55. This is why a 10-25% reduction seems like less than it actually is. :)

This calculator highlights the significance of the recent Wingman clip size nerf from 6 -> 4 at base as this in many cases will require a reload where previously it did not which increases its TTK by at least 2.1 seconds.

This calculator also assumes entirely Body or Head shots as the amount of shots to a limb (arm or leg) will vary by the character you're shooting at, so it'd be a pain to calculate and would usually only result in a small shift in the final result.

A "Full Reload" is incurred when a weapon is emptied and triggers an automatic reload. A "Tactical Reload" is a player input-triggered reload when the weapon is not empty, and in most games is the time when the "ammo" gets applied during the full reload animation. The Full Reload is meant as a punishing function for emptying a weapon vs quick reloading when poking from distance.

Lastly, just for fun look at 'dem Mozamweak values. Personally, I'd like to see the Mozambique either have its clip size increased or the number of pellets it fires increased (balanced to the same DPS). The amount of pellets fired (3) is too low for you to have a respectable hit rate with spread. The low pellet count is why it feels like you "whiff" a lot.
Hey there! I made this calculator to help players get a better sense of how certain weapons perform relative to their accuracy and skill level.

I see a lot of people using weapon tier lists from streamers or competitive players, but the actual weapon tier list is much more complicated and varies from player to player. In fact, aside from your personal playstyle the efficacy of a weapon depends greatly on your accuracy as a player compared with the clip size, Time To Empty, and health of your enemy. Weapons like the Longbow can be a top pick if your accuracy and headshot frequency are stupid high. Likewise, the Spitfire can be more effective than the R-301 if your accuracy is low.

The R-99 for example is heiled as a powerful weapon, but starts off with a small clip without a mag attachment and has wild recoil. This means that if your accuracy leans to the lower end of the spectrum, you can end up spending PRECIOUS combat time reloading the R-99 where other weapons would not need to be reloaded.

As you play with this calculator, pay close attention to the "# of Reloads For Kill" statistic, as avoiding a Full Reload (or even Tactical Reload) can shave needed seconds off an encounter. This is why switching to your secondary weapon when your primary is empty can mean the difference between a kill and a death.

Obviously, increasing your Accuracy & Headshot Accuracy can have a huge impact on your kill rate, but with some weapons more than others!

My hope is that this tool both fuels a healthy conversation on weapon balance and can be a fun way for players to dig into why an engagement may have ended a certain way for them.

FYI: The average player accuracy in an FPS is usually around 18-30% with headshot frequency around 5-10%. This average depends on input (Mouse vs Controller) and of course the game being played. I would expect Apex Legends to be a similar to these values for most players. High skill players tend to be between 50-70% accuracy on average.

**TO USE CALCULATOR**: Go File -> Make a Copy, and enter values on YOUR version of the sheet. Select a Weapon, enter your Accuracy and how often you land a Headshot, along with if the weapon has a mag attachment and what defenses your enemy has.

Let me know if any values need to be updated. Values here are from Patch 1.1.1. Cheers! <3
