MIS 6900 -Special Topic: Compete in a Connected World (41237): This course focuses on defining a backdrop for the emerging world in which engineers and business leaders will
77
compete. Experts predicted that world would have 50 billion devices that are connected to the internet by 2020. These include already connected consumer electronics, but rapidly
78
expand to include almost every product imaginable (appliances, cars, even mice traps). As these once closed systems are connected, mega systems will be created generating
79
incredible amounts of data, creating entirely new user experiences, and changing customer expectations. This course intends on helping students recognize these changes, and
80
determine how they can best apply their skills to capitalize on this changing world.
81
Note 5:
82
MIS 6810 - Digital Forensics Analysis (45193): This course presents students with a comprehensive understanding of digital forensic principles and the collection, preservation,
83
and analysis of digital evidence. The course includes selected topics from the legal, forensic, and information technology domains including understanding the digital forensics
84
profession and investigations, the investigator’s office and laboratory, data acquisition, working with Windows, current digital forensics tools, digital forensics analysis and validation,
85
email and social media, report writing for high tech investigations, expert testimony in high tech investigation, and ethics for the investigator, and expert witness.
86
This course will incorporate hands-on projects to reinforce practical applications of digital forensic theory.
