Overview:
15
Strengths:Notes:
16
HandsCatches everything thrown his way.
17
BlockingPearsall is an excellent blocker with great technique and positioning.
18
Intermediate Route RunningHis false move at the line is convincing, selling with his body weight, quick feet, and refined footwork. His intermediate route breaks often generate separation with great fakes using his head, body, and general suddenness. He understands how to use initial separation gained at the line to maximize separation at the proceeding break as well. Overall, Pearsall is just a refined route runner through and through.
19
20
Weaknesses:Notes:
21
SpeedPearsall lacks the speed to be a reliable deep threat, and will likely run in the 4.5s.
22
BuildWhile he contorts his body well to haul in contested catches, he is often bullied at the catch point. His build is slender, and he must put on mass if he wants to take any outside reps in the NFL.
23
Run After CatchHe is not overly twitchy or elusive in the open field.

Georgia (10/28/2023)
Statline: 6-97-0
Great false step against press. Used positioning to gain space on the break. Good blocking technique. Hips on split step are a little high. Lacks high end speed. Natural hands catcher. While his route running downfield is crisp, he lacks the speed to pull away from corners. Good drifting and spacing in zone.Third round player.

Note: Watch Freshman Eugene Wilson III.

30
SeparationShort85He gains decent initial separation through proper footwork and great false moves, but is not overly twitchy.
31
Medium93One of the best route runners over the middle in this class.
32
Deep47Does not pull away deep with his mediocre speed.
33
ReleaseStance92Some slightly wasted movements on occasion.
34
Acceleration74Good enough in any direction for the NFL, but not great.
35
Footwork90Great release package, but could be a bit more crafty and diverse on the outside. His hips could also drop a bit lower on many of his releases to increase efficacy.
36
HandsCatch reliability97Elite hands.
37
Catch radius91He may only be 6'1, but he catches anything his hands can reach.
38
Contested catch62Will contort his body, but not fight for positioning.
39
RACAthleticism81Tested much better athletically than he showed on tape.
40
Agility66Not that elusive in the open field, but still can make a guy miss on occasion.
41
Contact balance55Goes down rather easily after the catch.
42
BlockingTechnique96Aside from dropping his head too easily, his hand placement, positioning, and overall effectiveness as a blocker are quite impressive.
43
Willingness97Extremely willing to get inside and block downhill.
44
CoveragePress77Pearsall is best from the slot when there is not a man lined up directly on him despite a strong understanding of release footwork.
45
Off86He is excellent in the scramble drill and often knows where to go to find open space. He could improve his pacing and separation once picked up, but has a very good off coverage baseline.
46
47
Playstyle
48
Best RouteSpeed Cut Dig Route. He uses his positioning well to then fake and snap 90° off of a single plant.
49
Worst RouteGo Route. His ability to separate deep on any type of route will not be as effective in the NFL.
50
Pro ComparisonKhalil Shakir. Pearsall is much cleaner on his route breaks, but they have similar traits and styles.

Final Scouting Report
53
Pearsall is a clean route runner who understands how to separate over the middle against both man and zone coverage. He has crisp footwork at the line of scrimmage, and uses positioning gained from his release to maximize separation later in the route. His fakes and route breaks are reliably effective, allowing him to run a complex route tree. Despite his inside/outside utilization at Florida, he is likely a slot receiver at the next level who will block effectively and eat up the middle of the field without being asked to do much over the top.

His athleticism may not meet certain threshold for teams who want a more twitchy gadget player as their slot. His route running is refined, but the pop off of his initial split step is average at best by NFL standards. He has a slender build, and lacks the top-end speed to win deep. As long as teams understand his limitations, then Pearsall can be an immediate contributing factor in any offense. With a good route running baseline, solid blocking ability, and a standout Senior Bowl performance, Pearsall likely will not make it out of day two of the NFL Draft despite his physical limitations.
