British Canoeing recognise and support that paddlers have enriched and diverse experiences, having attended courses and having worked with other Guides and Leaders. We are working with other organisations to develop this mapping document and it will be updated on a regular basis.
25
26
The mapping document is to provide an indication of suitable and recognised courses and awards that can be used to APL British Canoeing Guide Modules. To understand the syllabus and content of each module, please refer to the module outlines found on the British Canoeing website. Other evidence can be used such as logged experience, guiding practice, staff training, etc. Evidence of certificates will need to be sent with your application. If other evidence is being used as part of the application, this must be endorsed from a third party, such as another Guide or employer, to verify and support your application.
27
28
Applications need to demonstrate extensive experience of at least several seasons of evidence guiding or a range of trips, including groups, environments and locations.
