19 | Halftime Room Switch | Due to a zoom time limit, many matches will switch rooms at halftime. Links for the first half and second half will be available in the Master or Team Schedule. | |||

21 | Buzzing | During game play all students must be unmuted. In order to buzz students must BOTH say the word buzz and type buzz into the chat. A moderator will hear the audible buzz and stop reading. He or she will then look down at the chat feature to see who has buzzed. | |||

23 | Recognition | Students must wait to be recognized by the moderator or scorekeeper before answering. Please note that the order of the listed buzzes in the chat window may be different for players and moderators. The moderator's screen will be used for final determination, hence the need for a student to be recognized. | |||
24 | Arguing over the issue of buzz order will not be tolerated. Any player arguing over buzz order on a given question will be disqualified from that question. Any player arguing continuously over buzz order may be removed from a match at the moderator's discretion. | ||||

26 | Sidetalking | Excess talking will not be tolerated. If a student is not answering a tossup after being recognized or conferring on a bonus, then talking should not occur. Any excess verbal utterance will be disqualifying. That is, a student who talks out of turn will be assessed a neg five and/or be disqualified from giving an answer to a live tossup. Moderators will be instructed to apply this policy strictly. | |||

28 | Timing | The timing for online games will be 5-5-5. That is students will have 5 seconds to begin his tossup answer after being recognized. A team will have 5 second at the end of a tossup to buzz in. A team will have 5 seconds to confer on a bonus part (4 seconds to discuss plus 1 second after "Answer Please") | |||

30 | Directed Bonus Answers | Though teams may take as much as 5 seconds to consult on a bonus part, we encourage teams to answer more quickly and save match time. In order to indicate a final bonus answer, a player should say "final" or "directed" after the answer. | |||

32 | Cell Phones | Cell phones or other electronic devices are not permitted during the match for any reason. | |||

34 | Bonus Hands | Students are asked to have their hands visible during their bonuses. Moderators will say something along the lines of "hands up, here is your bonus". | |||

36 | Tied Games | Preliminary Games can end tied. Playoff ties will be broken with sudden death tossups. | |||

38 | Spectators | Unfortunately spectators cannot be allowed during our online matches. Only players, coaches and staffers are allowed in the room during game play. | |||

40 | Substitutes | Substitutes will be sent to the waiting room during game play. Any lineup changes may be completed at half before substitutes will be sent back to the waiting area. | |||

42 | Internet Connection Issues | We understand that students may experience internet issues during online matches. Unfortunately we cannot offer any accommodations in this area. | |||

44 | Unique Devices & Teammate Proximity | Each student must have his own desktop, laptop, or tablet to play. Cell phone connections will not work. No two players may be in the same physical room during game play. | |||

46 | Audio & Video | Each student must have both audio and video capability to play. | |||

48 | Timeouts | There will be no timeouts for online tournaments at the current time. | |||

50 | Protests | Protests may only be lodged during half time or at the end of the game. Protests will not be adjudicated by the room moderators. They will all be forwarded to HQ and the results of the protest will be sent to the affected teams via text. | |||
