Step 1: Determine which factors matter to you

Step 2: Weight each factor so that the total = 1 (e.g. Location = 0.25). Enter these weights into column B. You can set a weight of "0" if you don't want to consider a factor.Tip: view the comment for each factor to see why / how this might make a difference!

Step 3: Enter a "raw" score for each school's factor (scale of 1-5; 5 = ideal for this factor, 1 = not ideal for this factor) Tip: for some factors (e.g. GPA) you may want to score schools in your "range" higher

Step 4: This should automatically calculate a total "score" for each school (highlighted green). You can update weights and raw values at any timeTip: not only can you prioritize schools you are interested in but you can also weight schools based on how competitive you will be applying there!
