This pony name generator draws from a list of 1095 words. You can see the lists if you click the 'Data' tab below. Some of the words have alternate forms or endings to try out. The names often won't make sense, but you can try combining them in different ways or refresh the page (F5) to generate a new list.

2% of names will only have one part as opposed to two. If both halves happen to come up blank, the whole field will be empty. There's some duplicate prevention built in, but occasionally you might see some.

The generator should be able to create the majority of pony names from the show, or something very close, but it doesn't have any (or many) human names, such as Gabby, Babs, Lyra, Joe, Maud, and the like. Some pony joke and pun name parts were intentionally left out, such as Flim, Flam, Derpy, Jet Set, Upper Crust, Hayseed Turnip Truck, etc., as they only really make sense when matched to their character. If you find a word you think should be added, or have another suggestion, leave a comment here using the Google Docs comment function.
