Have any schools found success with any means of measuring student progress across programs (academic and cocurricular) from Freshman to Senior year, independent of/in addition to the SPS?We are exploring way to be more specific with data collection and to measure the effectivess of our programs from Fresman to Senior year. In other words, are we doing what we think/hope we're doing?Tom Every, Gonzga College HSRegis Jesuit Saint Ignatius Chicago St. X Scranton Prep

What rules/policies have schools implemented in terms of addressing one to one iPad or laptop usage outside of regular class time? We are in our fifth year of a one to one iPad program and continue to struggle with acceptable use particularly outside of class hours. Two faculty "camps" have emerged; one looking for clear and specific rules and appropriate consequences, and the other supporting the freedom of use in the hopes that as students mature, a shift will occur from gaming and videos to educational purposes. One of the major concerns of the faculty is the reduction in student interaction witnessed before school and at lunch time, with a large percentage of students "playing" on their iPads. We are re-thinking our retreat program for underclassmen. Do any schools have a solid retreat for frosh and sophomores? We offer a Kairos retreat to juniors and a Magis retreat for seniors (this is a retreat that explores different ways to pray), We also offer a silent retreat to seniors. The underclass retreats need work. We have a one day frosh retreat and a sophomore overnight retreat, neither of which the faculty think are useful and the kids feel the same. We are looking for some ideas1Mike LiVigni, Xavier HS New YorkFordham Prep Freshman Overnight in school, 3 day soph away Gonzaga College HS DeSmet Brophy Regis Jesuit Creigton Prep St. Joe's PrepFordham Prep- kravatzm@fordhamprep.org;Creighton Prep- aloma@prep.creighton.edu; St. Joe's Prep - jjermone@sjprep.org
