I am a Portland native, after traveling for a number of years I returned to Portland. For work I'm a cafe manager at specialty coffee shop.
I have little experience with organized political parties. That said I've been attending meetings for the CCLC for the past two months.
I want to have a say in the direction of my local party politics.

I was a PCP in Tillamook County, and have been active in many committees, including Fundraising and Legislator Liaison. I have attended several CD4 meetings and SCC meetings.
I believe in the Democrats values, mission, and platform, and want to help connect with and educate people in my area with our Party.

My interest is to begin to organize precincts into neighborhood sub-precincts and canvass to create community interest to meet up regularly and work on solutions to those problems that are common to all of us. We have more resources than ever as the public, it's time to meet.

I grew up in Nebraska, then lived in Chicago for nine years, but I have been living in Portland since my mid-20s. I'm an attorney, but I'm not actively practicing law during the legislative session because I'm working as a legislative staffer in Salem.
I have volunteered on legislative and ballot measure campaigns, and am presently employed as a legislative assistant for a Democratic State Representative.
I would like to be more engaged in the local work of building excitement within the Party, voter by voter. I think the Neighborhood Leader Program offers an excellent path for engagement by people who may otherwise not think they have anything to offer a political party. I have also come to realize the importance of the party platform in priority-setting and coalition-building around policy goals, and I would love to have a say in the shape that platform takes.
