Optional Choir Camp with games, get-to-know-each-other activities, pool time, food, and fun! Hosted by the DSHS Choir Officers, this is a great opportunity for new students and incoming 9th graders to get to know members of the choir! Chamber Choir students are required to attend.
3	Tues, Aug. 24th	"Chicago" - Musical Auditions	DSHS Black Box Theatre	4:30 PM - ?	ALL STUDENTS are welcome to audition. (This is an optional event.)	Auditions are open to any DSHS student. Details will be distributed by Mrs. Aguilar and the Theatre Department.
4	Sat, Aug. 28th	Singing in the Hills All-State Choir Workshop	Dripping Springs HS	9:00 am - 4:00 pm	ALL STUDENTS are welcome!	Strongly, strongly encouraged for any students participating in TMEA All-State Choir Auditions. Scholarships available.

This competition is optional for JV choir students. Students must be academically eligible to audition.

20	Thurs, Feb. 17th	Soprano/Alto PJ Party	DSHS Choir Room	5:00-7:00 pm	Any Soprano/Alto Choir student is welcome to attend! (Optional Social Event)	Optional social event for sopranos and altos to get to know each other and interact with 8th grade choir soprano and altos. There will be games, activities, food, and fun! All in our pj's!
21	Friday, Jan. 14th	Jazz Cats Sing at Basketball Game	DSHS Competition Gym	5:45 Call Time, 6:45 pm Tipoff	Jazz Cats - REQUIRED	REQUIRED Performance of the National Anthem at the DSHS Boys Basketball Game against Canyon HS. After we sing, we will have a Jazz Cats family dinner!
22	Sat, Jan. 22nd	Bistro Night Donation Day	Dripping Springs Community	9:45 am - Meet in DSHS C-Lot, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm - Collect Donations	All Choir Students are invited and STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to participate!	Parent and Student Volunteers Needed! This will be a day where students will meet at the DSHS C-Lot, load up into vehicles, and "divide and conquer" to collect donations of $$ and silent auction items from community businesses. We need LOTS of help at this event, so please plan on being there to help!
23	Tues, Feb. 1st	Austin Opera Field Trip: "The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs"	The Long Center for the Performing Arts	4:15 pm Meet in Choir Rm, 7:00 pm Opera Dress Rehearsal, 10:00 pm approx. return time	Optional Field Trip Opportunity for any DSHS Choir Student	Optional field trip opportunity for any student (or parent) who is interested. We will dress up, meet in the Choir Room, take a bus together to downtown Austin, have dinner together, then see the opera at the Long Center. We will return home via bus at the conclusion of the dress rehearsal.

26	Sat, Feb. 26th	UIL Solo and Ensemble Competition	McCallum HS	TBD	All students are welcome to participate!	Varsity Chamber Choir students are required to participate in either TMEA Region Choir Auditions OR UIL Solo and Ensemble Competition. This competition is optional for JV choir students. Students must be academically eligible to audition.
27	Mon, Feb. 28th	Varsity Treble Choir Clinic	DSHS Choir Room	4th Period	DSHS Varsity Treble Choir (Bella Voce and Chamber Choir Sop/Alto) - REQUIRED	This is a REQUIRED clinic, and will serve as a summative grade. Chamber Choir students will be excused from their 4th period classes.

29	Thurs, March 3rd	JV Treble Choir Clinic	DSHS Choir Room	6th Period	Treble Choir - REQUIRED	AThis is a REQUIRED clinic, and will serve as a summative grade. It will take place during Treble Choir class.
30	Thurs, March 3rd	Tenor/Bass Game Night	DSHS Choir Room	5:00-7:00 pm	Any Tenor/Bass Choir student is welcome to attend! (Optional Social Event)	Optional social event for tenors and basses to get to know each other and interact with 8th grade choir tenors and basses. There will be video games, board games, pizza, snacks, and fun!
31	March 7-8	UIL Concert and Sightreading Evaluation	Hays CISD PAC	TBD	ALL CHOIR STUDENTS REQUIRED!	All DSHS Choir Students will either participate or attend as audience members. Please mark BOTH of these dates on your calendar, as we will not know which choirs perform on which dates until a few weeks prior to the evauation.
32	March 10-14	Spring Trip: New Orleans!	New Orleans, Louisiana	ALL DAY	All students are welcome!	Optional trip open to all DSHS Choir Students and their parents!

38	Fri, May 27th	DSHS Class of 2022 Commencement Ceremony	Tiger Stadium	Rehearsal in Choir Rm TBD, 8:00 pm Ceremony Begins	Jazz Cats (Required) + Senior Class of 2022!	Senior Choir Members in the Class of 2022 and Jazz Cats are invited to sing the National Anthem at the commencement ceremony. Required for members of Jazz Cats.
