JJ GreiveBurienI earnestly hope that our city council will take decisive action to address these concerns and prioritize the best interests of Burien. As a resident of 152nd Street, a property owner and business owner, I am deeply invested in the welfare of our city. The challenges we face are evident daily, and it's imperative that we move beyond finger-pointing and take meaningful steps towards resolution.

Kellie BassenBurienRather than find common ground the city leaders are playing a dangerous game of pitting citizens against king county and our Burien police department. Their actions are irresponsible and reduce faith in our institutions.

Jen Greenstein BurienAdolfo Bailon is not elected. His position should be apolitical and neutral. He is incompetent and acts as if he is an ego driven king. Also his evaluation needs to be released to the public who pay his salary. It was so bad that the company involved quit due to lack of action by the council. Adolf Bailon needs to be terminated from his position.
Kevin Schilling also acts based upon his own political aspirations. He is also incompetent, heartless and violates council rules. His lack of action on issues related to Burien's homeless are harmful to all, businesses included, and have led to the death of our unhoused neighbors. He is supposed to be a city leader but all he does is scapegoat others and shift blame. He needs to resign.

Jenifer PowellBurienI would further express no confidence in the Deputy Mayor, Stephanie Mora, for her consistent actions and support of dehumanizing homeless Burien residents, strongly supporting unconstitutional and harmful actions against homeless Burien residents, and extreme contempt for both homeless Burien residents and their allies/advocates.

Stan MilstidBurienA total lack of truthfulness and transparency by our 'city council'
20
Benjamin Schlemmer BurienI believe that to attempt to remove a devoted member of our community, that is our Chief of our PD, is irresponsible at this time. For public safety, city budgeting and legally. Especially during a time when Burien is facing several lawsuits over recent changes to our laws.
21
Zoë BermetBurienI would also add the Deputy Mayor to this as well.

38
Adelle ComfortBurienThere is no 'chasing away' the unhoused. There will be newly 'unhoused' humans every day in Burien. The shameful and inhumane treatment of them by the majority of this council has not worked and will never work. There are examples, such as Camp Second Chance, that prove that treating our unhoused in a humane way actually works.

43
David YoungBurienI fully support chief Boe. Curious why Burien city manager is named on the Park place Professional center on Google Maps?
44
Owen MillerBurienI believe are ENTIRE police department including Chief Boe are doing an excellent job despite being short handed and restricted in what and how they respond to incidents in
Burien. Burien will continue its journey down the toilet until city officials and king county
officials work together to come up with a plan to deal with crime , homelessness and
OPEN drug use. Until that is accomplished you cannot blame the police department for
These problems.
45
PaulBurienI know people that have worked for the city, and met people that have worked for the city over the years. (2009) The cultural change that has occurred since this new city manager took over is profound. People have left their jobs, said they have felt bullied, and in general have seen what used to be a transparent civil Structure and way of doing things is just disappeared no longer transparent. This guy seems to think he’s a king and Burien is his Fifedom. Enough of this!
46
Rebecca VincentBurienAdolpho and Kevin abuse their power and privilege without restraint. THEY should be removed, not our PD leaders.
47
Christine GardnerBurienTed Boe has stayed loyal and held to the law even with ambiguous city council support
48
Thomas ThorogoodBurienI never in my life thought I would be signing a petition in solidarity with the police, but I truly trust these officers more with my city and its citizens than I do the bullying, discordant city leadership that has taken over our council.
49
Craig LedeburBurienI strongly feel that Adolfo Bailon and Kevin Schilling do not have the residents' best interests in heart; between the drama with the King County Sheriff's Office as well as Kevin taking money from the Toyota dealership shortly after voting down a proposal to use a parking lot leased to them for temporarily housing the houseless, this whole thing has been very fishy.

I also call for an in-depth investigation of the actions undertaken by Adolfo Bailon and Kevin Schilling.

Char SawyerBurienInstead of focusing on blaming the City of Burien's problems on Chief Boe and the Police Department, City Manager Bailon and Mayor Schilling's time would be better spent concentrating on spending that million dollars that King County has been trying to give to the city for almost two years.

They have both wasted enough time doing absolutely nothing towards trying to help both the homeless population in our city and money trying to run these people out of town.

It is embarrassing to have city 'leaders' acting like six year olds rather than actually trying to make this city better for all who live here. Their attitude is wrong. If you want to be in public office, you need to behave like adults and work towards helping the citizens of Burien.

Maggie BlockBurienWe live in such divisive times, it has been heartbreaking to experience city leadership in Burien that seems more interested in widening divides in our beautiful community then finding solutions to the very real problems our city faces. Instead of honoring the city’s commitment to create shelter housing for those experiencing homelessness, you’re putting your time and resources into suing King County for not helping you terrorize our most traumatized neighbors. Instead of working with local community members that have decades of experience working with people of the margins of society, you’re creating more divides in our city by refusing to meet with community groups who’s values don’t align with yours, and a veteran police officer for trying to push back against your all sweeps no services agenda. I personally, do not know how to convey the level of tom foolery you have to do to get me and the people I am aligned with to be siding with a city’s police force. But Burien’s mayor and city manager have managed to do it, with flying colors. Your actions have been damaging to our community, and fruitless to providing any solutions to our city’s problems. Resign now before you create further and deeper problems.

Omaha SternbergBurienNot only has Burien City Manager Bailon pushed for the resignation of Chief Ted Boe, he has also explicitly tried to make helping our homeless population become productive citizens more difficult by canceling the contract with REACH.

Mayor Kevin Schilling has spearheaded discussions regarding transitioning our contract with KCSO for police services to a city paid police force (which would be more expensive), expanding Burien's no-camping in public parks ordinance. He also has been the voice of Burien condemning KCSO for filing a request with the court in regards to the constitutionality of the camping ordinance.

I might also note that when anyone looks at the Burien Municipal Ordinance for the no-camping ban, the last edit was in November of 2023; however at least two more changes have been made to this ordinance, but the city has NOT added to the public text of the ordinance.

Abigail Wilson-BriggsBurienStop this obsession with imprisoning homeless people. Cops aren't social workers, quit wasting their time and our tax money on ineffective yet harmful sweeps.
64
Jennifer Quigley-Gould BurienI add my additional concerns about the lack of response to my own emails related to the call for the ouster of Chief Boe. To not even acknowledge an email from a citizen is poor form.

Corina YballaBurienKevin Schilling and Adolfo Bailon have shamefully abused their powers and do not represent the people of Burien. Kevin’s conduct has devolved rapidly and in addition to being disgracefully unprofessional in his behavior towards his colleagues on council, the local Democrats, and his constituents, he cannot even manage to address the issues he claimed as top priorities on the campaign trail. Burien has more unhoused neighbors than ever and instead of working towards housing solutions with wraparound services, these two morons in chief are squandering the money we should be using for housing on legal fees after breaking state law. I urge Adolfo Bailon and Kevin Schilling to not embarrass our fine city any further and to resign immediately.
67
Anne ArmstrongBurienWhat is wrong in Burien? Let's start with the City Manager and Council President, Kevin Shilling. Please let's get rid of these men who have little to no compassion and apparently can be bought off by the wealthy (Burien Toyota owner, for example). Let's look at the police who have been put in a ridiculous position by these two men and their cohorts.
There have to be better solutions than the ones these people have come up with!
Find a place for the homeless and unhoused that is safe and secure and where they can be treated like human beings. Take the million plus we have been given by King County and find a tenable solution please! Burien has been offered pallet homes as well as tiny houses for FREE! Let's take them!

Manuel SiguenzaBurienI don’t align with police overall. However, the mayor and the city manager have failed to recognize protected activity for our houseless neighbors that the chief of police clearly understands. I don’t respect leaders who fail to recognize and respect the rights of some of our most disenfranchised community members and they do not have a place in leadership if they can’t get that right.

Stephen LillieBurienI support the Sheriff. I support the Police. The Mayor and city Manager…I do not support. The Sheriff has stated several times why she cannot support an ordnance that may be unconstitutional. She has also stated that if the City reinstates the original ordinance without the subsequent tacked on amendments, then she could enforce the original no daytime ordnance. How does the Mayor respond? He fires Ted Boe…he stops paying the Sheriff’s department for their services…He reschedules the town council meeting just to conflict with the Sheriff’s community safety meeting. Just like a petulant little kid. We have a non-elected, part time Mayor trying to prove he knows more about law enforcement and the Constitution than the professionals who live this everyday.
76
Kim and Charlie BaischBurienWe have significant concerns regarding the City Manager's job performance since he arrived in Burien. It is our opinion that since his arrival problems have become worse. The homeless situation feels like "Ground Hog Day" It seems he (and the council) are unable to make any decision regarding funding that has been offered, and the location of a shelter. It is our opinion, his way of solving problems is to threaten, blame, fire and even sue people that don't agree or challenge him. His attack at Chief Boe is a perfect example. I have seen no evidence that he is able to solve problems or address the complicated issues our city is facing. I wonder what came of the "confidential" evaluation by an outside company of his job performance due to concerns that were raised?

Kelsey Stefanik-GuizloBurienCity Manager Bailon and Mayor Schilling are an embarrassment to our city. Instead of joining with other leaders, cities, and government agencies to collaboratively work on the immensely complex issue of homelessness, they have instead continuously resorted to petty, ego-driven behavior that takes valuable time and resources away from the actual problem. Unlike Chief Boe, they are not fit to lead Burien. Therefore, City Manager Bailon should be removed from his position immediately and Mayor Schilling should resign.
84
Andi NewmanBurienAs a resident of and home owner in Burien, I have zero confidence in City Manager Adolfo Bailon. He makes unilateral decisions, misuses city resources and is a powerful gatekeeper according to his own whims -- as we saw in his hiding of the emails regarding the $1 million dollars for the pallet shelter village last year. I do not trust him. I believe he is a detriment to our city, and quiet honestly, makes our city look stupid.
85
Sara HendricksonBurienThe city manager and mayor have, many times, acted in opposition to the best interests of every person who lives in Burien. Despite being a police abolitionist, I am shocked and very disappointed in the actions taken towards Chief Boe. Chief Boe has had a measurably positive impact on our community. City Manager Bailon and Mayor Shilling have caused serious harm that we will have to work to undo.
