 AutoCraft Platinum AGM Battery H6AGMZ4MRWas going to get the same H7 that masz4m was using but after comparing between the Pep Boys, Autozone, and Advanced Auto Parts store brands, the AAP one had the most CCA/CA and with a 25% coupon and core return, total came out to $140. It fit perfectly with no adjustments or trimming or anything. I mean PERFECT. AAP gave me a little hard time as they said that 1) it was not the right size and 2) that they don't offer any battery for the Z4 as the ECU needs to be programmed to accept the new battery or the car won't start. So no free installation from them. Antigravity Batteries H7/Group 94R 80AhAGMZ4MDecided to get a larger battery since the last one from NAPA did not do well after a year. I figured there's a reason BMW provided option to fit larger battery, you can see on RealOEM there are more than one battery options for the Z4s, one has more power than others. So, I think if there's any Z4 that would need more power it would be the the convertible with the Carver amp and all other options (which is what I have). This battery fits perfectly without any modifications and I'm really happy with it so far. I picked this up at the local Pep Boys store, they were not able to find the battery when I asked for an H7 AMG, because it does not say so on the battery, it is labeled as L4 or 94R (all the same). Costco\ Interstate H6 AGMAGMZ4MCOEM (or better) fit, 2007 E86 Z4MC [todays date: 02 Jan 2023] Fits in battery area perfectly. The battery Oreilly suggests is tiny if not suspiciously small, dont bother with it, get this one. I couldn't find it on my own, the guys in the shop helped me figure it out by comparing my old battery. I went with the suggestions from the OP on this thread and lucked out by getting something comparable if not better. Get the AGM, you pay extra but its a better battery and your Z4 will be surpisingly snappier for it. REQUIRED: Definitely read the Pelican Parts article on how to replace the battery correctly and make sure you get the plug and nozzle for the venting kit when you buy your battery because they dont auto-magically include it. Also the Pelican link doesn't show the nozzle/adapter connected to the battery, you need one of those to connect the venting hose to. On this battery theres a second venting hole on the opposite side, you will need to plug that hole, the plug comes with the free kit. Sounds complicated but its not, its easy peasey just follow the steps. NOTE: For my Z4MC I did not need to reset the computer. BUT be sure to unlatch/unscrew the carpet corner piece and move it and the negative cable completely away from the bottom right side of the battery tray.
