§A. CONTEST RULES
5
1.The object of the contest is to end up with the highest amount of ZIvcoin, denoted by Ƶ, after all 5 rounds have commenced. This will also serve as the currency used for buying skeletons.
6
2.Each player starts with Ƶ100 upon entry. By submitting your first skeleton [See §B], you will be entered into the contest. We will then add you to the category and the leaderboard.
7
3.To enter the contest, just express your interest in the #st-contest-general channel with your ZIv user ID (found in the end of your profile's URL), and you will be added to the category.
8
4.All submissions should be made during the submission window [See SCHEDULE] before the deadline, which is SUNDAY, 6:00PM UTC. NO EXCEPTIONS.
9
5.To join a particular round, you may either submit a skeleton, or you can purchase a skeleton from the store [See §D]
10
6.Once you recieve a skeleton, you make the stepchart and finish the simfile and submit it before the deadline, in order to be considered for votes.
11
7.In order to receive ZIvcoin from votes during a round, you must vote [See §F].
12
§B. SKELETON SUBMISSION RULES
13
1.In order to enter a round, please submit one or two song skeletons consisting each of an audio file, a synced .sm file via DM to one of the hosts during the submission window (See SCHEDULE). Ensure to remain anonymous in the skeleton submission.
14
2.You must submit up to two simfile skeletons, each with a minimum starting bid to get access to the auction room without buying in.
15
3.Your .sm file must include #TITLE, #ARTIST, #MUSIC, #SAMPLESTART, #SAMPLELENGTH, #OFFSET, and #BPMS tags.
16
4.In order to qualify, you must send in your skeleton(s) before the deadline. However, you can send your skeleton as early as you want.
17
5.The song file must be 1 minute and 15 seconds or longer, and less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds, which might require you to cut the song down to the proper length. This length does NOT include silence at the beginning or end of the audio file.
18
6.The submitted .sm file should be synced to the song (with the corresponding #BPM and #OFFSET tags), and include no steps. Please ensure that your file is synced properly throughout the entire song. Please do not add steps, BPM gimmicks, etc. as that is for the stepper to add themselves.
19
7.Graphics and background movies are optional. These graphics can be original, cut from album art, or otherwise, but they should relate to the audio in some way. If you do not want to submit graphics with your simfile, placeholder ones will be available to use.
20
8.Try to submit songs that people will want to step. This encourages people to bid more Ƶ to receive your song, and thus you will receive more Ƶ as a result. If you “cheese” your submission, you will likely receive very few Ƶ in return [See §C].
21
9.No minimum bitrate is required, but try to submit an audio file of decent quality and bitrate, as a low-quality file will likely warrant less Ƶ to you after auction. Replacing the audio with a better quality one is allowed provided the song cut remains the same.
22
10.If two people submit the same song, both song skeletons will be treated separately upon auction.
23
11.You cannot submit a song if it has previously been submitted in the contest.
24
§C. AUCTION RULES
25
1.Once the deadline to upload skeletons has passed, all skeletons will be posted publicly and the auction starts. The auction will run for one week until the next deadline.
26
2.In order to make a bid, send a DM with your bids to forcednature or t7r. In the DM, state the MAXIMUM Ƶ you wish to pay for each desired skeleton. It may be less, but it will at least be as high as the starting bid. You are welcome to bid on multiple skeletons at the same time, but you will only receive one.
27
3.All bids must be a whole number of Ƶ. The minimum bid is Ƶ1.
28
4.You cannot bid more Ƶ than you currently have on any individual song, since you would not be able to afford it.
29
5.You can change your bids as often as you'd like to. Whichever is the most recent set of bids by the deadline will be used.
30
6.You cannot bid on the skeleton you submitted. That kind of defeats the purpose. You may also not bid on songs you have already stepped before regardless whether the song cut is different or not.
31
7.At the end of the auction, each skeleton is awarded to its highest bidder for the price they bid on it. The Ƶ will be transferred from the final bidder to the person who submitted the skeleton. This means you should try to make your skeleton as desirable as possible to make others bid more Ƶ to receive it.
32
8.If there is a tie for the highest bid, the skeleton will go to the participant who submitted their bid first.
33
9.If you hold the highest bid on multiple skeletons, you will receive the one that you bid the most Ƶ on. If there is a tie, it will be chosen randomly.
34
10.All bids are private, and no one will see your bids until the auction closes. Then, all bids will be revealed once the results are finalized.
35
11.Any leftover skeletons are put on sale at the store for the price of 75% of the starting bid, rounded down. [See §D].
36
12.If you did not recieve a skeleton from the auction, you must buy one from the shop to participate in that round.
37
13.If somehow you are unsatisfied with the skeleton you receive after the auction, you may buy a new one from the store [See §D].
38
14.If you feel the skeleton you received violates the SKELETON SUBMISSION RULES, i.e. bad sync, you may request a refund in the #contest-general channel, which, if granted, will force the participant who submitted the invalid skeleton to disqualify themselves from that round. You have a choice to get either your Ƶ back or the skeleton that the submitter received. You may no longer use the refunded skeleton, but you may buy a different skeleton from the shop.
39
15.Special cases if less than 3 skeletons are submitted:
40
2 skeletons — Skeletons are given to the other player for no cost. Vetoes are still allowed.
41
1 skeleton — The round is skipped, and that one skeleton is transferred over to the next submission window.
42
0 skeletons — The round is skipped.
43
16.No cooperating with other players to gain an unfair advantage during auctions, votes, or otherwise.
44
17.Contest hosts may only participate via purchasing skeletons that aren't their own from the shop.
45
18.Those that submitted a duplicate song are not allowed to bid for the other duplicate.
46
§D. STORE RULES
47
1.Simfile skeletons that are not sold to a bidder during auction are put up for sale at the store for one less than the price of the highest bid placed on them. If no bids were placed, they will be priced at 75% of the starting bid, rounded down.
48
2.If you would like to step a skeleton from the store, you may purchase it for its current price with Ƶ points and you will gain access to it. In order to make a purchase, simply post in the forum thread.
49
3.At the end of each round, the new price of each skeleton will become 20% off the original price.
50
4.If multiple people attempt to purchase a skeleton from the shop, it will be sold to the person who requested it first.
51
5.When a skeleton is purchased, the Ƶ is tranferred to the player who submitted it. For this reason, you cannot buy your own skeleton from the store.
52
NOTE: The backup pile has been replaced by the store, so backups are no longer needed.
53
§E. SIMFILE SUBMISSION RULES
54
1.Simfile entries must be uploaded by the deadline.
55
2.You should not put [Round X] in the Song Title when submitting. Instead, select the proper subcategory when uploading.
56
3.If two people submit simfiles with the same title, please add your username in square brackets. For example, MOVE! (We Keep It Movin') [SomethingRandom] and MOVE! (We Keep It Movin') [talkion].
57
4.You must include an .sm file, but you are welcome to include an .ssc file and any additional files as well.
58
5.Feel free to add your own stops, BPM changes, or whatever. If you feel your sm file needs to be re-synced, you can sync it yourself, or you can request a refund in the thread (see AUCTION RULES #14).
59
6.At least one 4-panel chart is required. More than one chart is optional.
60
7.Songs must be rated in DDR's X-scale from 1-20. If the hardest chart is at least a Level 16, an accompanying lower chart Level 15 or lower is required.
61
8.No keyboard charts. Pad (DDR/ITG) charts only.
62
9.Automatically generated (autogen) steps are not allowed.
63
10.New simfiles only. Previous publicly-released, showcased, or critiqued simfiles (whether through downloads or in videos) are not allowed.
64
11.You may edit title/artist tags as close to the originals as you see fit after receiving the skeleton. Taking out labels (e.g. BEMANI Sound Team) is allowed.
65
§F. VOTING RULES
66
1.Voting will be done via DM. Submit votes to forcednature or t7r.
67
2.Vote each simfile from 1 to 10, similar to contests after Battle Royale 2021.
68
3.You must play all of the simfiles when voting. This gives everyone a fair shot at winning.
69
4.One member = One vote. Do not make alternate accounts to get more votes. We will find out and violation of this will result in being removed from the contest and possible server or site ban.
70
5.You may revise your votes before the deadline as you seem fit. Ensure you are not influenced by others' feedback when doing so; use your own judgment.
71
6.Feel free to post any rankings or reviews of the simfiles with your votes in the #file-feedback channel.
72
7.Your votes must be posted before the deadline. No exceptions.
73
8.Based on your total points, you will be placed against the others in the round. You will earn Ƶ based on your placement for that round. Every round's winnings are higher than the round before.
74
9.No cooperating with other players to gain an unfair advantage during auctions, votes, or otherwise.
75
§G. REWARDS
76
The Ƶ rewards are based on the differential from the median (similar to Summer Contest's points system where .01 from the median is equal to 1 point).
In the succeeding rounds, the payout will be substantially larger with the following multipliers:
Round A: 1x
Round B: 1.3x
Round C: 1.7x
Round D: 2.2x
Round E: 3x
