WHAT IS THE MEMBER PROGRESS CARD?

The "member progress card" is an organizational tool meant for the Member and the Vice-President of Education of a Toastmasters Club.
It provides a means for members, mentors, and the Vice-President of Education to:

(a) keep track of member goals and progress;
(b) communicate with the member;
(c) help a member to organize their own club progress and submit Pathways awards;
(d) allows a member to document the dates of their club speeches;
(e) allows the VP of Education to receive emails notifications about changes to the card made by the member
(i.e. changes to their progress).

The card is fully customizable, extendable, downloadable, shareable, printable, and syncable with other tabs in this spreadsheet.
Click the "Sample" tab below to switch to the Member Progress Card template.

HOW TO SET UP THE MEMBER PROGRESS CARD FOR A NEW MEMBER

(1) Click "File" above. Make a copy of this document. The new copy you have made is now your member's own template,
and you can change the name of the copied file from TEMPLATE to the name of the member (i.e. Jane).

(2) In the member copy, delete the VP OF EDUCATION tab (not meant for the Member). To delete this tab in the copy,
click on the downward triangle next to the tab name below, and a "Delete" option is available.

(3) Fill in the initial known information of the member in the member progress card (including their chosen path and name),
as well the dates of any speeches they gave in the past toward to the completion of a project, if any.

(4) In the options above the card, click on Tools > Notification rules...

(5) Click "Any changes are made" and "Email - daily digest". 24 hours after any and all changes has been made,
the administrator (VP of Ed.) is notified and can respond. (The "right away" option may become annoying
if many changes occur and notifications are sent each time.)

(6) Click "Share" (top-right) and share the card with your member by email and/or with a shareable link.
Ensure that the member has edit access to the card.

(7) With the member's permission, you may also share the card with the member's club mentor, though they should
have view or comment access only.

(8) Explain how the card works for your club member and invite them to make the
card fully their own (i.e. more colorful, customizable, etc...). The main thing that the VP of Ed. needs from this card are
(i) member goals and (ii) speech dates.

(9) Encourage the member to keep this card as up-to-date as possible, and that the card will help the VP of Ed.
to help the member to be more accountable for the own progress as a speaker and accomplish their goals!

(10) Repeat steps 1 through 9 for a new member. Once all cards are developed for each club member,
they can exist and be used for as long as the member is part of your club!

(11) If you have any questions, please contact the developer of this tool,
Mr. Anthony Di Stefano (Earth Aware Toastmasters) at anthony.distefano@outlook.com.
