The Master Sheet will keep track of the expected datasets coming from each zone. These expected datasets will each receive a unique metadata record in the IYS Catalogue.
5
The information provided in the Master Sheet will aid the NPAFC Secretariat and the IYS Data Scientists to create these metadata records on your behalf.
6
When assigning names of scientists to various roles associated with the dataset (Author, Owner, etc.) please also include their email adress and institutional affiliation details in the Scientists tab
7
8
For each expected dataset, please fill out the following information in the Master Sheet (ignoring green highlighted columns):

Include a concise English title for your dataset. Please refrain from using special characters in the dataset title. This is the title that will show up in the Catalogue.
12
Keywords
Include at least 3 and at most 7 specific English keywords for your dataset.
13
Principal Investigator(s)
Identify who the Principal Investigator(s) (PIs) is/are for this dataset.
14
Metadata Custodian(s)
Identify who is responsible for providing and verifying the accuracy of the metadata record prior to publication. Please note: each dataset must at minimum have 1 Metadata Custodian. If no one is identified, the Principal Investigator will also be the Metadata Custodian. This role is not included in the citation.
15
Data Owner(s)
Identify the person(s) or organization(s) that own(s) of the data. Please note: each dataset should at minimum have 1 Data Owner.
16
Author(s)
Anyone that has been involved with producing the dataset in such a capacity that the PI decides should be included in the citation. Please list the authors in the order they should appear in the citation, including the PI(s) and data owner(s).
17
Sampling instrument
If applicable, provide the sampling instrument used to collect or generate the data.
18
Sampling depth(s)
If applicable, provide the (range of) depths at which data was collected.
19
Limitations of data
What limitations exist for external users interpretting or making inferences based on these data?
20
Intended repository
Indicate the intended domain-specific, open-access repository that adopts community standards, and that you intend to publish the data on. If none provided, the IYS Data Scientists will most likely default to OBIS or ERDDAP.
21
Note: One person can have multiple roles.

Dataset status levels:
24
Level 1: Data only have a metadata record, no data have been received.
25
Level 2: Data have a metadata record, data have been received and are available internally to IYS expedition scientists but not yet published publicly.
26
Level 3: Data have a metadata record and only a subset of the data have been standardized and made publicly available in a domain-specific repository.
27
Level 4: Data have a metadata record and a non-standardized version of the dataset is publicly available.
28
Level 5: Data have a metadata record and the full fidelity of the dataset is standardized and available in a domain-specific repository.
