ExperienceBeautiful Company2013 –Sole ProprietorNew York, NYI am interested in visual identities that change over time, considering public space both on and offline. I regularly collaborate with artists and cultural institutions. In 2017, I designed an online archive for the Van Alen Institute to show a century’s worth of architecture competition ephemera and programmed “Fake Newsroom” website with artist Jason Fulford. Now in 2018, I am working with Artists Space on their new website to precede their forthcoming relocation and completing an iden- tity, wayfinding, and website project with the City of San Antonio for the opening of a new public art garden. A favorite collaboration remains artist Harm van den Dorpel’s left gallery, which produces and sells downloadable art objects.
Yale University2013 – CriticNew Haven, CTI invented the undergraduate interactive design curriculum at Yale. I teach the course “Interactive Design” each spring to a mix of graduate and undergraduate students. In Fall 2014, I created a new course for freshmen, “Interactive Concrete Poetry.” In Fall 2018, I will teach “Programming as Writing,” a new course I developed, to graduate students.
