Backstory: Jack had a rough childhood, growing up in a poor neighborhood in the Big City. His parents didn't really care about, you know, actually being parents. So, he got no love in that department. He couldn't do anything with them around. His parents treated him not like a living, breathing human, but as an object to be ordered around. Jack grew to resent them, and by extention, all authority in general. This grew to a boiling point, and after he jumped out of his third story apartment while in a heightened emotional state. He somehow survived, and while bloodied on the asphalt, he vowed to never be bossed around again. His life was his own. Fuck his parents. They didn't even notice he was gone until morning.

Sifting through the garbage in an alley, he came across a dollar-store fox mask. He had an idea. In order to lay low, he decided to don the mask and change his name. He was no longer Jack Zander, he was... THE JACKAL.
